But if you had known what this means I desire mercy, and not sacrifice you would not have condemned the blameless.
But those who will be rich fail into temptation and a snare, and many foolish and hurtful desires, which drown men in destruction and perdition. Have all the gifts of healing? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? But seek earnestly the best gifts; and yet I show you a more excellent way.

And do this, because you know the time, that the hour has already come when we should awake out of sleep; for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed: the night is far advanced, the day draws near. Let us, therefore, put off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. Let us walk in a becoming manner, as in the day; not in riotings and in drunkenness, not in lewdness and in wantonness, not in. contention and in envy:read more.

So, then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath. For the wrath of man produces not the righteousness of God.

They are amazed at this that you run not with them into the same excess of debauchery, and they revile you. These shall give an account to him that is ready to judge the living and the dead.
