"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and it will be opened for you.
Therefore let us approach with confidence to the throne of grace, in order that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
Then they cried out to Yahweh in their trouble, and he brought them out of their distresses. He made [the] storm be still and their waves became calm. Then they were glad because they grew silent, so he guided them to their desired harbor.
But whenever you pray, enter into your inner room and shut your door [and] pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will reward you. "But [when you] pray, do not babble repetitiously like the pagans, for they think that because of their many words they will be heard. Therefore do not be like them, for your Father knows {what you need} before you ask him.
Jesus answered and said to her, "If you had known the gift of God and who it is who says to you, 'Give me [water] to drink,' you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water."
And {whatever} you ask in my name, I will do this, in order that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do [it].
Therefore if you, [although you] are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the Father from heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?"
You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and your fruit should remain, in order that whatever you ask the Father in my name he will give you.
Now if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask for [it] from God, who gives to all without reservation and not reproaching, and it will be given to him.
casting all your cares on him, because {he cares} for you.
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just, so that he will forgive us [our] sins and will cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
And this is the confidence that we have before him: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us [in] whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked from him.
