For as many as [are the] promises of God, in him [they are] "yes"; therefore also through him [is] the "amen" to the glory of God through us.
He will call upon me and I will answer him; I [will be] with him in trouble; I will rescue and honor him.
The poor and the needy [are] seeking water and [there is] none; their tongue is dried up with thirst. I, Yahweh, will answer them; I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them.
Then you shall call, and Yahweh himself will answer. You shall cry for help, and he will say, 'Here I [am]!' If you remove from among you [the] yoke, the {finger-pointing} and {evil speech},
And this will happen: before they call, I myself will answer; [while] still they [are] speaking, I myself will hear.
'Call to me, and I will answer you, and I will tell you great [things] and inaccessible [things that] you have not known.'
And I will bring the [remaining] third into the fire, and I will refine them like [one] refines silver, and I will test them like [one] tests gold. They will call my name, and I will answer them. I will say, 'They are my people,' and they will say, 'Yahweh [is] my God.'"
And I tell you, ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and it will be opened for you.
If you ask me anything in my name, I will do [it].
If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you want and it will be done for you.
and whatever we ask we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do [what is] pleasing {in his sight}.
but also I myself heard the groaning of the {Israelites}, whom [the] Egyptians [are] making to work, and I remembered my covenant.
{I have certainly seen} the mistreatment of my people [who are] in Egypt and have heard their groaning, and I have come down to deliver them. And now come, I will send you to Egypt.'
If you indeed afflict him, yes, if he cries out at all to me, I will certainly hear his cry of distress.
And Yahweh said to Moses, "Also I will do this thing that you have spoken, because you have found favor in my eyes and I have known you by name." And he said, "Please show me your glory." And he said, "I myself will cause all my goodness to pass over before you, and I will proclaim the name of Yahweh before you, and I will be gracious [to] whom I will be gracious, and I will show compassion [to] whom I will show compassion."read more.
But he said, "You are not able to see my face, because human will not see me and live."
For what great nation [has] for it a god near to it as Yahweh our God, whenever we call [upon] him?
"And you, Solomon my son, know the God of your father and serve him with a whole heart and a willing mind, for Yahweh searches all hearts and understands every plan and [all] thoughts. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you abandon him, he will reject you forever.
I am a laughingstock to my friends: '[He] calls on God, and he answers him.' A righteous, blameless man [is] a laughingstock.
He prays to God, then he accepts him, and he sees his face with a shout of joy, and he repays to the human being his righteousness.
And those who know your name will trust in you, for you do not forsake those [who] seek you, O Yahweh.
[The] longing of [the] afflicted you have heard, O Yahweh. You will make their heart secure. You will {listen attentively}
Therefore let all [the] faithful pray to you at [the] time [for] finding [you]. Surely at [the] flood of many waters they will not reach him.
The eyes of Yahweh [are] toward [the] righteous, and his ears toward their cry for help.
Rather for you I wait, O Yahweh. You will answer, O Lord my God.
Then my enemies will turn back {when} I call. This I know because God [is] for me.
because Yahweh hears [the] needy and does not despise his [own who are] prisoners.
I [am] Yahweh your God, who brought you up from the land of Egypt. Open wide your mouth and I will fill it.
For you, O Lord, [are] good and forgiving, and abundant in loyal love for all who call to you. Heed, O Yahweh, my prayer, and attend to the voice of my supplications. In the day of my trouble I call to you, because you answer me.
He will turn his attention to the prayer of the destitute and will not despise their prayer. Let this be written for [the] next generation, so that a people [yet] to be created may praise Yah, that he looked down from his holy height. Yahweh looked from heaven over [the] earthread more.
to hear [the] groaning of [the] prisoner, to liberate {those destined to die},
For if you cry out for understanding, [if] you lift your voice for insight,
The dread of the wicked will come upon him, but the desire of the righteous will be granted.
The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination of Yahweh, but the prayer of the upright [is] his delight.
To mortals [belong] the plans of the heart, but from Yahweh [comes] the answer of the tongue.
And it will be a sign and a witness to Yahweh of hosts in the land of Egypt; when they cry out to Yahweh because of oppressors, he will send them a savior and a {defender}, and he will deliver them.
For people will live in Zion; in Jerusalem, you will surely not weep. Surely he will be gracious to you; when he hears the sound of your cry, he will answer you.
Then [when] you call me, and you come and pray to me, then I will listen to you.
With weeping they will come, and with pleas for mercy I will bring them; I will let them walk by streams of water in a straight path. They will not stumble in it, for I have become to Israel a father, and Ephraim, he [is] my firstborn."
"Thus says the Lord Yahweh: 'Again this [time] I will let {myself be inquired of} by the house of Israel, to do [something] for them; I will cause them to increase {their population like a flock}.
Then Yahweh became jealous for his land and took pity on his people.
For thus says Yahweh to the house of Israel, "Seek me so that you may live." But do not seek Bethel or go [to] Gilgal or cross over to Beersheba, for Gilgal will certainly go into exile and Bethel will come to disaster." Seek Yahweh so that you may live, so that he will not break out like a fire [against] the house of Joseph! And it will devour, {with none to quench} [it] for Bethel.
Seek Yahweh, all you afflicted of the land who have fulfilled his law; seek righteousness; seek humility. Perhaps you will be concealed on the day of the anger of Yahweh.
Ask rain from Yahweh in the season of [the] spring rain-- Yahweh, who makes storm clouds, and he gives showers of rain to them, to everyone vegetation in the field.
And whenever you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, because they love to stand [and] pray in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, in order that they may be seen by people. Truly I say to you, they have received their reward in full! But whenever you pray, enter into your inner room and shut your door [and] pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will reward you. "But [when you] pray, do not babble repetitiously like the pagans, for they think that because of their many words they will be heard.read more.
Therefore do not be like them, for your Father knows {what you need} before you ask him. Therefore you pray in this way: "Our Father who is in heaven, may your name be treated as holy.
"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and it will be opened for you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. Or what man is [there] among you, [if] his son will ask him [for] bread, will give him a stone?read more.
Or also [if] he will ask for a fish, will give him a snake? Therefore if you, [although you] are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him?
Again, truly I say to you that if two of you agree on earth about any matter that they ask, it will be done for them from my Father [who is] in heaven.
For this [reason] I say to you, whatever you pray and ask for, believe that you have received [it], and it will be [done] for you.
Therefore if you, [although you] are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the Father from heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?"
And the Lord said, "Listen to what the unrighteous judge is saying! And will not God surely {see to it that justice is done} to his chosen ones who cry out to him day and night, and will he delay toward them? I tell you that {he will see to it that justice is done} for them soon! Nevertheless, [when] the Son of Man comes, then will he find faith on earth?"
But be alert at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these [things] [that] are going to happen, and to stand before the Son of Man."
Jesus answered and said to her, "If you had known the gift of God and who it is who says to you, 'Give me [water] to drink,' you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water."
We know that God does not listen to sinners, but if someone is devout and does his will, he listens to this one.
And {whatever} you ask in my name, I will do this, in order that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
And on that day you will ask me nothing. Truly, truly I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in my name, he will give you.
And now why are you delaying? Get up, be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on his name!'
And likewise also, the Spirit helps [us] in our weakness, for we do not know how to pray as one ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes [for us] [with] unexpressed groanings.
For [there] is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same [Lord] [is] Lord of all, who is rich to all who call upon him.
because through him [we] both have access in one Spirit to the Father.
Now to the one who is able to do beyond all measure more than all that we ask or think, according to the power that is at work in us,
Therefore let us approach with confidence to the throne of grace, in order that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
let us approach with a true heart in the full assurance of faith, our hearts sprinkled [clean] from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.
Now without faith [it is] impossible to please [him], for the one who approaches God must believe that he exists and is a rewarder of those who seek him.
Now if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask for [it] from God, who gives to all without reservation and not reproaching, and it will be given to him. But let him ask for [it] in faith, without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven by the wind and tossed about. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord;
Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse [your] hands, [you] sinners, and purify [your] hearts, [you] double-minded!
Therefore confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous person accomplishes much.
And this is the confidence that we have before him: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us [in] whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked from him.
