Yahweh [is] my strength and my shield. My heart trusts him and I am helped. So my heart rejoices, and with my song I will give thanks to him. Yahweh [is] their strength, and he [is] the refuge for the salvation of his anointed one.

After these things the word of Yahweh came to Abram in a vision, saying: "Do not be afraid, Abram; I [am] your shield, [and] your reward [shall be] very great."

Blessed [are] you, O Israel. Who is like you, a people who [is] saved by Yahweh, the shield of your help, and who [is] the sword of your triumph, and your enemies, they shall fawn before you, and you shall tread on their backs."

But you, Yahweh, [are] a shield around me, my glory and the one who lifts up my head.

My shield [is] with God who saves the upright of heart.

You [are] my hiding place and my shield; I hope in your word.

The night is far gone, and the day has drawn near. Therefore let us throw off the deeds of darkness and put on the weapons of light. Let us live decently, as in the day, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and licentiousness, not in strife and jealousy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ and do not make provision for the desires of the flesh.

[that] you take off, according to your former way of life, the old man, who is being destroyed according to deceitful desires, be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and put on the new man (in accordance with God), who is created in righteousness and holiness from the truth.

Do not lie to one another, [because you] have taken off the old man together with his deeds,

Therefore, [because] Christ suffered in the flesh, you also equip yourselves with the same way of thinking, because the one who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin,

Stand therefore, girding your waist with truth, and putting on the breastplate of righteousness,

For me [the] wicked [lie in] wait to destroy me. I give attention to your testimonies.

so that we may no longer be infants, tossed about by waves and carried about by every wind of teaching, by the trickery of people, by craftiness with reference to the scheming of deceit. But speaking the truth in love, we are to grow into him [with reference to] all [things], who is the head, Christ,

Beware lest {anyone take you captive} through philosophy and empty deceit, according to {human tradition}, according to the elemental spirits of the world and not according to Christ,

Hold fast to the pattern of sound words which you heard from me, in the faith and love [that are] in Christ Jesus. Guard the good deposit through the Holy Spirit who lives in us.

Therefore, {when you have prepared your minds for action} [by] being self-controlled, put your hope completely in the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

With all vigilance, keep your heart, for from it [comes] the source of life.

Righteousness will guard the upright of way, but wickedness will overthrow sin.

I will rejoice greatly in Yahweh; my being shall shout in exultation in my God. For he has clothed me [with] garments of salvation, he has covered me [with the] robe of righteousness, as bridegroom adorns [himself] [with] a head wrap like a priest, and as bride adorns herself [with] her jewelry.

And he showed me Joshua the high priest standing {before} the angel of Yahweh; and Satan was standing on his right to accuse him. But Yahweh said to Satan, "Yahweh rebukes you, O Satan! Yahweh who has chosen Jerusalem rebukes you! [Is] this not a stick snatched from the fire?" And Joshua was clothed [in] filthy garments and was standing {before} the angel.read more.
And he answered and said to the ones standing {before} him, saying, "Remove the filthy garments from him." And he said to him, "See, I have taken away your guilt from you, and will clothe you [with] rich garments."

and binding [shoes] under your feet with the preparation of the good news of peace,

"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you--not as the world gives, I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let [them] be afraid.

I have said these [things] to you so that in me you may have peace. In the world you have affliction, but have courage! I have conquered the world."

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

in everything taking up the shield of faith, with which you are able to quench all the flaming arrows of the evil one,

For the righteousness of God is revealed in it from faith to faith, just as it is written, "But the one who is righteous by faith will live."

Look! His spirit within him is puffed up; it is not upright. But the righteous shall live by his faithfulness.

{Resist him}, steadfast in your faith, [because you] know the same [kinds] of sufferings are being accomplished by your community of believers in the world.

because everyone who is fathered by God conquers the world.

and receive the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God,

But [because] we are of the day, we must be sober, [by] putting on the breastplate of faith and love and [as] a helmet the hope of salvation, because God did not appoint us for wrath, but for the obtaining of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,

For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all people, training us in order that, denying impiety and worldly desires, we may live self-controlled and righteously and godly in the present age, looking forward to the blessed hope and the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,read more.
who gave himself for us, in order that he might redeem us from all lawlessness and purify for himself a people for his own possession, zealous for good deeds.

And everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as that one is pure.

for the weapons of our warfare [are] not merely human, but powerful to God for the tearing down of fortresses, tearing down arguments

In my heart I have hidden your word, so that I may not sin against you.

All scripture [is] inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness, in order that the person of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.

For the word of God [is] living and active and sharper than any double-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, both joints and marrow, and able to judge the reflections and thoughts of the heart.

with all prayer and supplication praying at all times in the Spirit, and to this [end] being alert with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints,

As for me, I will call to God, and Yahweh will save me. {Morning, noon and night} I will lament and groan loudly, and he will hear my voice. He safely redeems my life from [the] battle against me, because [those standing] against me are among many.

Therefore let us approach with confidence to the throne of grace, in order that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Therefore confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous person accomplishes much.
