And all in the synagogue, when they heard this, were filled with wrath. And they rose up, and forced him out of the city and took him to the brow of the hill on which their city was built, to cast him down headlong; but he, passing through the midst of them, went away.

And on the day of Pentecost they were all together in one place.

And they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and rushed upon him with one accord; and having cast him out of the city, they stoned him. And the witnesses laid down their garments at the feet of a young man named Saul;

And on the next sabbath almost the whole city came together to hear the word of the Lord.

Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars hill, and said, Men of Athens, in all things I perceive that ye are very devout.

And from Miletus he sent to Ephesus, and called the elders of the church. And when they had come to him, he said to them: Ye yourselves know, from the first day that I came into Asia, after what manner I have been with you the whole time,

And they sing a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open its seals; for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed to God by thy blood men out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation,

After these things I saw, and lo! a great multitude, which no one could number, out of every nation and all tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, and palms in their hands.
