Be not deceived: Evil communications corrupt good manners.

and he not fashioned after this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

O adulteresses, do you not know that the friendship of the world is enmity to God? Whosoever therefore may wish to be the friend of the world renders himself the enemy of God.

If thou doest these things, show thyself to the world. For His brothers were not believing on Him. Jesus says to them, My time is not yet; but your time is always ready. The world is not able to hate you; but it hates me, because I testify against it, that its works are evil. You go up to the feast: I do not go to this feast; because my time is not yet fulfilled. Saying these things He remained in Galilee. And when His brothers went up to the feast, then Himself also went up, not openly, but in secret. Then the Jews were seeking Him at the feast, and saying, Where is He? And there was much murmuring in the crowd concerning Him: some indeed were saying, That He is good; others were saying, No, but He deceives the multitude. No one indeed was speaking openly concerning Him on account of the fear of the Jews.

and you have forgotten the exhortation which reasoneth with you as with sons, My son regard not lightly the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art proven of him: for whom the Lord loves he chastises, and scourges every son whom he receives. And if you are without chastisement, of which all have been partakers, then are you bastards, and not sons.
