The kingdom of heaven is like a king that made a marriage feast for his son;

While they were going to buy, the bridegroom came; and those who were ready went in with him to the marriage supper; and the door was closed.

and be like men that are waiting for their lord, when he shall return from the wedding; that, when he comes and knocks, they may open for him immediately.

And he said to them: Draw out now, and carry it to the governor of the feast. And they carried it. When the governor of the feast had tasted the water that had been made wine, (and he knew not whence it was, but the servants that had drawn the water knew,) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom, and said to him:

And he said to me: Write, Blessed are they that are called to the marriage-supper of the Lamb. And he said to me: These are the true words of God.

And a suitable day having come, when Herod, on his birth day, made a supper for his great men, and his chief officers, and the first men of Galilee;

And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it, and let us eat and be merry;
