6 Bible Verses about Beatings

And that servant who knew his master's will, and did not ready himself or do according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. But he who did not know, and committed things deserving of stripes, shall be beaten with few. From everyone who has been given much, much will be required; and to whom they entrusted much, of him they will ask the more.

At harvest time he sent a servant to the tenants, that they would give him some of the fruit of the vineyard. But the tenants beat him and sent him away empty-handed. He sent another servant; him also they beat and treated shamefully, and sent him away empty-handed.

Then they struck him on the head with a reed and spat on him; and falling on their knees, they paid homage to him.

So they took his advice, and they called the apostles in and had them flogged. Then they ordered them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.

The crowd joined against them, and the magistrates tore the garments off them and ordered them to be beaten with rods. And when they had inflicted many blows upon them, they threw them into prison, charging the jailer to guard them securely. Having received such a charge, he put them into the inner prison and fastened their feet in the stocks.
