but he said to them, "I must preach the good news of the kingdom of God to the other cities also, because I was sent for this purpose."
And every day, in the temple and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ.

Again the next day John was standing with two of his disciples. And he looked at Jesus as he walked, and said, "Behold, the Lamb of God!"
"But when the Counselor comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, he will testify of me. And you also will bear witness, because you have been with me from the beginning.
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be my witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the ends of the earth."
This Jesus God raised up again, and of that we are all witnesses. Being therefore exalted at the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this which you see and hear.
And Paul went in, as was his custom, and for three weeks he reasoned with them from the scriptures, explaining and proving that the Christ had to suffer and rise again from the dead, and saying, "This Jesus whom I am proclaiming to you is the Christ."
That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have touched, concerning the Word of life, the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and testify to it, and proclaim to you the eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us that which we have seen and heard we proclaim also to you, so that you may have fellowship with us; and our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ.
For, "everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." How then can they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how can they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without a preacher?
Now after John was put in prison, Jesus came to Galilee, preaching the gospel of God, and saying, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent, and believe in the gospel."
Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through him forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you, and through him everyone who believes is freed from everything from which you could not be freed by the law of Moses.
He brought them out and said, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" They said, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household." They spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house.read more.

And every Sabbath he was reasoning in the synagogue, and trying to persuade Jews and Greeks.
And Agrippa said to Paul, "In a short time you think to persuade me to become a Christian!"
Through him we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith for the sake of his name among all the nations,
Whether then it was I or they, so we preach and so you believed.
Therefore, knowing the fear of the Lord, we persuade men; but what we are is known to God, and I hope it is known also to your conscience.
So, being sent out by the Holy Spirit, they went down to Seleucia and from there they sailed to Cyprus. When they arrived at Salamis, they proclaimed the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews. And they had John as their helper.
They passed through Pisidia, and came into Pamphylia. And when they had spoken the word in Perga, they went down to Attalia.
A vision appeared to Paul in the night: a man of Macedonia was standing and begging him, and saying, "Come over to Macedonia and help us." When he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go on into Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them.
After this the Lord appointed seventy others, and sent them ahead of him, two by two, into every town and place where he himself was about to go.
And he called to him the twelve, and began to send them out two by two, and gave them authority over the unclean spirits.
So he invited them in to be his guests. The next day he rose and went off with them, and some of the brethren from Joppa accompanied him.
Now at Iconium they entered together into the Jewish synagogue, and so spoke that a great number believed, both of Jews and of Greeks.
And they went through the region of Phrygia and Galatia, having been forbidden by the Holy Spirit to speak the word in Asia.
Then the brethren immediately sent Paul out to go as far as the sea, but Silas and Timothy remained there. Now those who escorted Paul brought him as far as Athens; and receiving a command for Silas and Timothy to come to him as soon as possible, they left.
because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.
But you, be sober in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.
And the Lord said to Paul one night in a vision, "Do not be afraid, but go on speaking and do not be silent; for I am with you, and no man will attack you to harm you, for I have many people in this city." And he stayed a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.
And he stayed there two whole years in his own rented quarters and welcomed all who came to him, preaching the kingdom of God and teaching about the Lord Jesus Christ quite openly and unhindered.
Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching. Do not neglect the gift you have, which was given you through prophetic utterance when the council of elders laid their hands on you.
preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; correct, rebuke, and exhort, with great patience and instruction.
For we are not, like so many, peddling the word of God; but as men of sincerity, as from God, in the sight of God we speak in Christ.

I have been on frequent journeys, in danger from rivers, in danger from robbers, in danger from my own countrymen, in danger from Gentiles, in danger in the city, in danger in the wilderness, in danger at sea, and in danger from false brethren; I have been in labor and hardship, through many sleepless nights, in hunger and thirst, often without food, in cold and exposure. Besides such external things, there is the daily pressure on me of concern for all the churches. Who is weak, and I am not weak? Who is made to fall, and I do not inwardly burn?

But Jews came there from Antioch and Iconium; and having won over the crowds, they stoned Paul and dragged him out of the city, supposing that he was dead.
And he was talking and arguing with the Hellenistic Jews; but they were seeking to kill him.
Then all the city was aroused, and the people rushed together, and taking hold of Paul they dragged him out of the temple, and immediately the gates were shut. While they were trying to kill him, a report came up to the commander of the Roman cohort that all Jerusalem was in confusion.
serving the Lord with all humility and with tears and with trials which came upon me through the plots of the Jews;
but after we had already suffered and been shamefully treated in Philippi, as you know, we had the boldness in our God to speak to you the gospel of God in the face of great opposition.
I am speaking the truth in Christ, I am not lying; my conscience bears me witness in the Holy Spirit, that I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart.
