And though that the people of the land hide their eyes from that fellow, when he giveth of his seed unto Moloch, so that they kill him not:
Wrest not the law, nor know any person, neither take any reward: for gifts blind the wise and pervert the words of the righteous.
Behold, here I am. Answer me before the LORD and before his anointed, whose ox have I taken? Or whose ass have I taken? Whom have I done wrong to? Or whom have I oppressed? And of whose hand have I received any bribe, to blind mine eyes therewith? And I will restore it you again."
He that giveth unto the poor, shall not want; but he that turneth away his eyes from such as be in necessity, shall suffer great poverty himself.
Wherfore if thy right eye offend thee, pluck him out, and cast him from thee: better it is for thee that one of thy members perish, than that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
But and if thine eye be wicked, then all thy body shall be full of darkness. Wherefore if the light that is in thee, be darkness: how great is that darkness?
And if also thine eye offend thee, pluck him out and cast him from thee. It is better for thee to enter in to life with one eye, than, having two eyes, to be cast into hellfire.
