Luke 1:5-25

There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth. And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless. And thou shalt have joy and exultation, and many shall rejoice at his birth. For he shall be great before the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb. And many of the children of Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God. And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord. And Zacharias said to the angel, Whereby shall I know this? For I am an old man, and my wife advanced in years. And the angel answering, said to him, I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God, and am sent to speak to thee, and to shew thee these glad tidings. And behold, thou shalt be deaf, and not able to speak, till the day that these things are done, because thou believedst not my words, which shall be fulfilled in their season. And the people were waiting for Zacharias, and marvelled that he tarried so long in the temple. And coming out, he could not speak to them; and they perceived, that he had seen a vision; for he beckoned to them, and remained speechless. And when the days of his ministration were accomplished, he went to his own house. And after these days, his wife Elisabeth conceived, and hid herself five months, saying, Thus hath the Lord done to me, in the days wherein he looked upon me, to take away my reproach among men.

Luke 1:57-66

Now Elisabeth's full time came, that she should be delivered, and she brought forth a son. And her neighbours and relations heard, that the Lord had shewed great mercy upon her, and they rejoiced with her. And on the eighth day they came to circumcise the child, and they called him Zacharias, after the name of his father.read more.
But his mother answering said, Nay, but he shall be called John. And they said to her, There is none of thy kindred that is called by this name. And they made signs to his father, what he would have him called. And asking for a writing-tablet, he wrote, saying, His name is John. And they marvelled all. And immediately his mouth was opened, and his tongue loosed, and he spake, praising God. And fear came on all that dwelt round about them, and all these things were noised abroad, in all the hill-country of Judea. And all that heard them, laid them up in their hearts, saying, What manner of child shall this be? And the hand of the Lord was with him.

And in the sixth month, the angel Gabriel was sent from God, to a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, To a virgin of the house of David, espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, and the virgin's name was Mary. And the angel answering said to her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee; therefore also that Holy thing which shall be born, shall be called the Son of God. And behold thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her who was called barren. For with God, nothing shall be impossible. And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord: be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.

Matthew 1:20-21

But while he was thinking on these things, behold an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take to thee Mary thy wife; for that which is begotten in her, is of the Holy Ghost. And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus; for he shall save his people from their sins.

And straightway the father of the child crying out, said with tears, Lord, I do believe: help thou mine unbelief. And Jesus seeing that the multitude came running together, rebuked the unclean spirit, saying, Thou deaf and dumb spirit, I command thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him. And having cried and rent him sore, he came out; and he was as dead, so that many said, He is dead. But Jesus taking him by the hand, lifted him up, and he arose.

Luke 9:37-43

And the next day, as they came down from the mountain, a great multitude met him. And behold a man from the croud, cried aloud saying, Master, I beseech thee, look upon my son; for he is my only child. And lo, a spirit taketh him, and he suddenly crieth out, and it teareth him, that he foameth, and bruising him, hardly departeth from him.read more.
