Now there were some Greeks among those who went up to worship at the Feast. Then they came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee, and said to him, "Sir, we wish to see Jesus." Philip went and told Andrew; and in turn Andrew and Philip told Jesus.

He first found his own brother Simon, and said to him, "We have found the Messiah" (which means the Christ). He brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, "You are Simon son of John. You shall be called Cephas" (which means Peter).

Then his fame spread throughout all Syria, and they brought to him all sick people who were afflicted with various diseases and pains, and those who were demon-possessed, epileptics, and paralytics, and he healed them.

When evening had come, they brought to him many who were demon-possessed. And he cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick.

And one of the crowd answered him, "Teacher, I brought my son to you, who has a mute spirit. And wherever it seizes him, it throws him down; he foams at the mouth, gnashes his teeth and becomes rigid. I asked your disciples to cast out the spirit, but they could not." And they brought the boy to him. And when the spirit saw him, immediately it convulsed the boy, and he fell on the ground and rolled about, foaming at the mouth.

Philip found Nathanael and said to him, "We have found him of whom Moses in the law, and also the prophets, wrote Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph." And Nathanael said to him, "Can anything good come out of Nazareth?" Philip said to him, "Come and see."

Then behold, men brought on a bed a man who was paralyzed, and they sought to bring him in and lay him before Jesus. When they could not find a way to bring him in, because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and let him down with his bed through the tiles into the midst before Jesus.

As they were going out, behold, a mute and demon-possessed man was brought to him.

And when she had said this, she went her way and called Mary her sister, saying, "The Teacher is here and is calling for you."

So Jesus stopped, and commanded him to be brought to him. And when he came near, he asked him,
