he is conceited and understands nothing; but he has a morbid interest in controversial questions and disputes about words, which produce envy, strife, malicious talk, evil suspicions,

A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like his teacher. And why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye, but do not notice the plank in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, 'Brother, let me remove the speck that is in your eye,' when you yourself do not see the plank that is in your own eye? You hypocrite! First take the plank from out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take out the speck that is in your brother's eye.

Do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgment."

Who are you to judge the servant of another? To his own master he stands or falls. And he will be made to stand, for the Master is able to make him stand. But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged by you, or by any human court; I do not even judge myself. I am not aware of anything against myself, but I am not acquitted by this. It is the Lord who judges me. Therefore do not go on passing judgment before the time, but wait until the Lord comes who will both bring to light the things hidden in the darkness and disclose the motives of men's hearts. Then every man will receive his praise from God.

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. Love is patient, love is kind. It is not jealous or boastful, it is not arrogant or rude, it does not seek its own, it is not provoked, it keeps no record of wrongs, it does not rejoice in evil, but rejoices with the truth.

Do not speak against one another, brethren. He who speaks against a brother or judges his brother, speaks against the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge of it.

It was right that we should make merry and be glad, for this your brother was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.'"

Sufficient for such a one is this punishment which was inflicted by the majority, so you should rather turn to forgive and comfort him, so that he will not be overwhelmed by excessive sorrow. I urge you, therefore, to reaffirm your love for him.read more.
For this is why I wrote, that I might test you and know whether you are obedient in everything. Any one whom you forgive, I also forgive.
