For I see that you have fallen into the 'bitterness of envy' and the 'fetters of sin.'"
and they may yet come to a sober mind, and escape from the snares of the Devil, when captured by the Lord's Servant to do the will of God.
They promise them freedom, while they themselves are slaves to corrupt habits; for a man is the slave of anything to which he gives way.

But, on account of the false Brothers who had stolen in, the men who had crept in to spy upon the liberty which we have through union with Christ Jesus, in order to bring us back to slavery-- Why, we did not for a moment yield submission to them, that the Truth of the Good News might be yours always!
It is for freedom that Christ set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not again be held under the yoke of slavery.
That is why it is said--'When he went up on high, he led his captives into captivity. And gave gifts to mankind.'
