9 Bible Verses about Cheerfulness

no sooner were they ashore, but the people, who presently perceiv'd it was Jesus, came flocking from all quarters, carrying their sick on their beds to the places where they heard he was:

these things I have appriz'd you of, that ye might repose your confidence in me. the world shall give you trouble: but take courage, I have overcome the world.

Then the governour sign'd to Paul to reply; who said, I enter upon my defence with the greater confidence, by considering you have govern'd this nation several years:

let every man give as he is disposed in his own mind, without any regret or reluctance: for God loves a cheerful benefactor.

on exhortation: he that giveth, let him be disinterested; he that presideth, let him be diligent; he that sheweth mercy, let him do it with cheerfulness.

if it be the ministry, let him attend on that ministry; and he that teacheth, on teaching; he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him be disinterested; he that presideth, let him be diligent; he that sheweth mercy, let him do it with cheerfulness. Let love be without dissimulation. abhor that which is evil, adhere to that which is good.

Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. is his mind serene? let him sing psalms.

take courage then, my friends, for I have this confidence in God, that what has been told me, shall be effected,

at which they all took heart and fell a eating likewise,
