And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets he explained to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.

But he answered and said, It is written, "Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceedeth from the mouth of God."

And Jesus answered him, It is written, "Not on bread alone shall man live."

Ye have heard that it was said to them of old time, "Thou shalt not kill; and whoever shall kill, shall be in danger of the Judges."

But he said to them, Have ye not read what David did, when he and those who were with him were hungry? how he went into the house of God, and they ate the showbread, which it was not lawful for him to eat, nor for those who were with him, but for the priests alone? Or have ye not read in the Law, that on the sabbaths the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?read more.
But I say to you, that something greater than the temple is here. But if ye had known what this meaneth, "I desire mercy and not sacrifice," ye would not have condemned the guiltless.

Jesus answered and said to them, Ye err, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God. For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven. But concerning the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken to you by God, saying,read more.
"I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob"? He is not a God of the dead, but of the living.

Jesus said to them, Do ye not err on this account, that ye know not the Scriptures, nor the power of God? For when they have risen from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels in heaven. And concerning the dead, that they are raised, have ye not read in the book of Moses, at the Bush, how God spoke to him, saying, "I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob"?read more.

And Jesus said to them, The sons of this world marry, and are given in marriage; but they who have been accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage; for they cannot die any more; for they are like the angels, and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection.read more.
