Then his lord calling him, said to him, Thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou intreatedst me. Should'st not thou also have had compassion on thy fellow-servant, as I had pity on thee? And his lord being wroth, delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due to him. So likewise will my heavenly Father do to you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his servants, and delivered to them his goods. And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, according to his own ability, and immediately took his journey. For to every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not, shall be taken away even what he hath. And cast ye the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

And having agreed with the labourers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard. And going out about the third hour, he saw others standing idle in the market-place.read more.

And he answering said to one of them, Friend, I do thee no wrong. Didst not thou agree with me for a penny? Take what is thine, and go: it is my will, to give to this last, even as to thee? Is it not lawful for me, to do what I will with my own? Is thine eye evil, because I am good? So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many are called, but few chosen.

A certain creditor had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty. But they having nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both: Which therefore will love him most? Simon answering said, I suppose, he to whom he forgave most. He said to him, Thou hast rightly judged.read more.

Many also of those who had practised curious arts, bringing their books together, burnt them before all men, and they computed the value of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver.

And when they were come to Capernaum, they that received the tribute-mony came to Peter and said, Doth not your master pay the tribute? He saith, Yes. And when he came into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? Of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? Of their own sons, or of strangers? And the chief priests taking the pieces of silver, said, It is not lawful to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood.

Then Judas who had betrayed him, seeing that he was condemned, repenting himself, brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, Saying, I have sinned, in betraying innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? See thou to it. And having thrown down the pieces of silver in the temple, he withdrew and went and hanged himself.read more.

And Jesus sitting over-against the treasury, beheld how the people cast mony into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much. And a poor widow coming, cast in two mites, which make a farthing.

And looking up, he saw the rich casting their gifts into the treasury. And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither tuo mites.

Then went the Pharisees and consulted, how to insnare him in his talk. And they sent to him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth; neither carest thou for any man: for thou regardest not the person of men. Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute to Cesar, or not?read more.

And they send to him certain of the Pharisees, and of the Herodians, to catch him his talk. And they coming say to him, Master, we know that thou art true, and carest for no man; for thou regardest not the person of men, but teachest the way of God in truth. But he observing their craftiness, said to them, Why tempt ye me? Shew me a penny. Whose image and superscription hath it? They answering said, C?sar's. He said, Render therefore to C?sar the things which are C?sar's, and to God the things which are God's. And they could not take hold of his words before the people; and marvelling at his answer, they held their peace.

Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? And one of them shall not fall to the ground without your Father.

Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings? Yet not one of them is forgotten before God.

Agree with thine adversary quickly, while thou art in the way with him, lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison. Verily I say unto thee, thou shalt in no wise come out thence, till thou hast paid the last farthing.

When thou art going with thine adversary to the magistrate, give diligence in the way to be delivered from him: lest he hale thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and the officer cast thee into prison. I tell thee, thou shalt in no wise come out thence, till thou hast paid the last mite.
