as it is written, "After this will I return, and rebuild the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will repair its ruins, and set it up again.
Hath not the Scripture said, that Christ cometh of the seed of David, and from Bethlehem, the town whence David was.
He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Most High, and the Lord God shall give Him the throne of David his father, and He shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever, and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

And Jesus spake and said, as He was teaching in the temple, How do the scribes say, that the Christ is the son of David? for David himself said by the holy Spirit, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand till I make thine enemies thy footstool. So that David himself calleth Him Lord: how then is He his son? And many of the people heard Him with pleasure.
And He said unto them, How do they say, that Christ is the son of David? when David himself saith in the book of Psalms, "The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool."read more.
David therefore calleth Him Lord, and how is He then his son?
blessed be the kingdom of our father David, that is coming in the name of the Lord, Hosanna in the highest.
and the multitudes, that went before and that followed, cried saying, Hosanna to the Son of David: blessed be He that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.
But we hoped that it was He that would have delivered Israel: and besides all this, to-day is the third day since these things were done.
Being therefore come together they asked Him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?
Men and brethren, allow me to speak with freedom to you concerning the patriarch David, that he is dead and buried, and his sepulchre is among us to this day. Therefore being a prophet; and knowing that God had sworn to him with an oath, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up the Messiah, to sit on his throne; foreseeing this he spake of the resurrection of Christ, when he said, that his soul was not left in the invisible state, nor did his flesh see corruption.
And that He raised Him from the dead, no more to return to the place of corruption, He hath said thus, "I will give you the sure mercies of David."
