But concerning the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read what is spoken to you by God, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living. And when the people heard this, they were astonished at his doctrine. But when the pharisees heard that He had silenced the sadducees, they gathered together again, and one of them, an interpreter of the law, propounded a question, to try Him, and said, Master, which is the greatest commandment in the law? And Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind: this is the first and great command. And the second is like it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two precepts depend all the law and the prophets.

John 18:33-38

Pilate therefore went into the palace again, and called Jesus and said to Him, Art thou the king of the Jews? Jesus answered him, Dost thou say this from thyself, or did others tell it thee of me?
