Elisha left Jericho to go to Bethel. On the way some boys came out of a town and taunted and made fun of him. They shouted: Get out of here, baldy! Elisha turned around and glared at them. He cursed them in the name of Jehovah. Then two she-bears came out of the woods and tore forty-two of the boys to pieces.
Noah awoke from his wine and found out what his youngest son had done to him. He (Noah) said: Canaan is cursed! He will be a lowly slave to his brothers.
Joshua called for them, and he spoke to them, saying: Why did you deceive us, saying: 'We are very far from you' when you dwell among us? Now you are cursed, and none of you will be freed from being slaves, and hewers of wood and drawers of water for the house of my God.
I took up the cause against them, cursing them and giving blows to some of them and pulling out their hair. I made them take an oath by God, saying: You are not to give your daughters to their sons or take their daughters for your sons or for yourselves.

His wife asked him: Are you still holding on to your principles? Curse God and die!
Men were scorched with great heat. They blasphemed the name of God, who has power over these plagues. They did not repent and give him glory.
What do I have here? Declares Jehovah. For my people have been taken away for nothing. Those who rule them mock, declares Jehovah. And all day long my name is constantly blasphemed.
Now then, son of man, tell the Israelites what I, the Lord Jehovah, am saying to them. This is another way their ancestors insulted me by their unfaithfulness.
