When he had seized him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four squads of soldiers to guard him, intending after the Passover to bring him out to the people.

For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,

And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that he might have the first place in everything.

He is not here; for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay.

But he said to them, "Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him.

And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins.
