Now there was at Joppa, a certain disciple, named Tabitha, which is by interpretation Dorcas; this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did. And in those days she was sick and died; whom having washed, they laid in an upper chamber. Then Peter arose and went with them; whom being come, they brought into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them.
And Jesus coming into the ruler's house, and seeing the minstrels and the croud who cried out aloud,
And he came and touched the bier, and the bearers stood still. And he said, Young man, I say to thee, Arise.
And taking it down, he wrapped it in fine linen, and laid it in a sepulchre that was hewn in stone, wherein never man before was laid.
And Joseph taking the body, wrapped it in clean linen, And laid it in his own new tomb,
And having bought fine linen, he took him down, and wrapped him in the linen, and laid him in a sepulchre, which was hewn out of a rock, and rolled a stone to the door of the sepulchre.
So they took the body of Jesus, and wrapped it in linen clothes with the spices, as the manner of the Jews is to bury. Now in the place where he was crucified, there was a garden, and in the garden a new sepulchre, in which no man had ever been laid. There therefore they laid Jesus, because of the preparation -day of the Jews; for the sepulchre was nigh.
