And he gave some apostles, and some prophets, and some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edification of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ,

and the servant of the Lord must not contend, but must be gentle to all, apt to teach, patient under evil, in meekness correcting the adversaries, that God may give them a change of mind to a knowledge of the truth, and that they may recover themselves from the snare of the devil, who are made captives by him to his will.

And, fathers, provoke not your children, but bring them up in the instruction and admonition of the Lord.
