And Jehovah said unto Cain, Where is your brother Abel? And he said, I do not know. Am I my brother's keeper?

And when his brothers saw that their father loved him more than all his brothers, they hated him, and could not speak peaceably to him.

You sit; you speak against your brother; you slander your own mother's son.

For even your brothers and the house of your father, even they have dealt treacherously with you. Yea, they have called a multitude after you. Do not believe them, though they speak good things to you.

So says Jehovah: For three transgressions of Edom, yea for four, I will not turn away from it. Because he pursued his brother with the sword, and cast off all pities, and his anger tore without end, and he kept his wrath forever.

So says Jehovah: For three transgressions of Tyre, yea for four, I will not turn away from it. Because they delivered up as exiles a complete population to Edom, and did not remember the brotherly covenant.

And you shall be betrayed also by parents and brothers and kinsmen and friends. And they will cause some of you to be put to death.

If your brother, the son of your mother, or your son, or your daughter, or the wife of your bosom, or your friend who is like your own soul, lures you secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods which you have not known, you nor your fathers, that is, of the gods of the people who are around you, near you or far off from you, from the one end of the earth even to the other end of the earth, you shall not consent to him nor listen to him. Nor shall your eye pity him, nor shall you spare, nor shall you hide him.read more.
But you shall surely kill him. Your hand shall be first on him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people. And you shall stone him with stones so that he dies, because he has sought to drive you away from Jehovah your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of slaves.

And brother will deliver up brother to death, and the father his child. And the children shall rise up against their parents and cause them to be put to death.

And a brother will betray a brother to death, and a father his son. And children will rise up against their parents and will cause them to be put to death.

For the son dishonors the father; the daughter rises up against her mother, the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. A man's enemies are the men of his own household.

And a man's foes shall be those of his own household.

So says Jehovah, Behold, I will raise up evil against you out of your own house, and I will take your wives before your eyes and give them to your neighbor. And he shall lie with your wives in the sight of this sun.

All the brothers of the poor man hate him; how much more do his friends go far from him? He pursues them with words, yet they are lacking.

A brother offended is like a strong city; and their disagreements are like the bars of a fortress.

But Jesus said to them, A prophet is not without honor, except in his native-place, and among his own kin, and in his own house.

If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple.

a false witness who speaks lies, and he who causes fighting among brothers.
