And he said to them, The sabbath was made for man, not man for the sabbath.
For he saith thus in a certain place, of the seventh day, And God rested on the seventh day from all his works: And in this again, They shall not enter into my rest.
Let us labour, therefore, to enter into that rest, lest any one should fall, after the same example of unbelief.

And on the first day of the week, when we were met together to break bread, Paul being to depart on the morrow, preached to them, and continued his discourse till midnight.

Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the earth, unto the ninth hour. And about the ninth hour, Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama-sabachthani? That is, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? Some of them that stood there hearing it, said, He calleth Elijah.read more.
And immediately one of them ran, and taking a sponge filled it with vinegar, and put it on a cane, and gave him to drink. The rest said, Let be: let us see whether Elijah will come to save him. Jesus after he had cried again with a loud voice, dismissed his spirit.

And one ran and filling a sponge with vinegar, put it on a cane, and gave him to drink, saying, Let alone; let us see if Elijah will come to take him down. And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and expired.
And it was about the sixth hour; and there was darkness over all the earth till the ninth hour. And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst. And Jesus crying with a loud voice, said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit. And having said thus, he expired.
After this, Jesus knowing, that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst. Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar. And filling a sponge with vinegar, and putting it on a stalk of hyssop, they put it to his mouth. When Jesus had taken the vinegar, he said, It is finished, and bowing the head, he gave up the Ghost.
And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man, sitting on the right-side, clothed in a white robe; and they were affrighted. He saith to them, Be not affrighted: ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen: he is not here. Behold the place where they laid him.
But the angel answering said to the women, Fear not ye; for I know ye seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for he is risen, as he said: come, see the place where the Lord lay.
behold two men stood by them in shining garments. And as they were afraid, and bowed down their face to the earth, they said to them, Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen. Remember how he spake to you being yet in Galilee,
And he led them out as far as Bethany; and lifting up his hands, he blessed them. And while he was blessing them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven.
And having spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up, and a cloud received him from their sight.
And when the day of Pentecost was come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there was a sound from heaven, as of a rushing, violent wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared to them distinct tongues, as of fire; and it sat upon each of them.read more.
And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
