Hospitality, Shown To
Most Relevant Verses
Don’t neglect to show hospitality, for by doing this some have welcomed angels as guests without knowing it.
Is it not to share your bread with the hungry,
to bring the poor and homeless into your house,
to clothe the naked when you see him,
and not to ignore your own flesh and blood?
On the contrary, when you host a banquet, invite those who are poor, maimed, lame, or blind.
Elisha replied, “Don’t kill them. Do you kill those you have captured with your sword or your bow? Set food and water in front of them so they can eat and drink and go to their master.” So he prepared a great feast for them. When they had eaten and drunk, he sent them away, and they went to their master. The Aramean raiders did not come into Israel’s land again.
ButIf your enemy is hungry, feed him.
If he is thirsty, give him something to drink.
For in so doing
you will be heaping fiery coals on his head.
And you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you; for you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”
