But know this, that, had the householder known at what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken through. Therefore, be ye also ready; for, in an hour that ye think not, the Son of Man is coming.

Come now, ye who say, "To-day or to-morrow we will go into this city, and spend one year there, and trade, and get gain," (ye who, indeed, know nothing of to-morrow! what is your life? for ye are a vapor that appears for a little time, and then vanishes away); instead of your saying, "If the Lord will, we shall both live, and do this or that."read more.
But now ye are glorying in your boastings! all such glorying is evil.

And He spake a parable to them, saying, "A certain rich man's field yielded bountifully; and he reasoned within himself, saying, 'What shall I do, because I have not where to store my fruits?' And he said, 'This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build larger ones; and there will I store all my grain and my goods.read more.
And I will say to my soul, Soul, you have much goods laid up for many years; take your ease, eat, drink, be merry.' But God said to him, 'Senseless one! this night they require your soul of you; and the things you prepared, whose shall they be?' So is he who is laying up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God."

But we do not wish you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those falling asleep, that ye sorrow not even as the rest who have no hope; for, if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, so also those who fell asleep in Jesus will God bring with Him. For this we say to You, in a word of the Lord, that we, the living who remain over to the coming of the Lord, shall in nowise precede those who fell asleep;read more.
because the Lord Himself will descend from Heaven, with a shout, with a voice of an archangel, and with a trumpet of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first; after that we, the living who are left over, will be caught up together with them in clouds, into the air, to meet the Lord; and so shall we always be with the Lord. Now concerning the spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not wish you to be ignorant. Ye know that ye were gentiles, carried away to the dumb idols, as ye were led. Wherefore, I make known to you that no one speaking in the Spirit of God, says, "Jesus is accursed"; and no one can say, "Jesus is Lord," except in the Holy Spirit.read more.
Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are diversities of ministries, and the same Lord. And there are diversities of workings, but the same God, Who worketh all things in all. And to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for profiting. For to one, indeed, is given through the Spirit a word of wisdom; and to another, a word of knowledge, according to the same Spirit; to another, faith, in the same Spirit; and to another, gifts of healings, in the one Spirit; and to another, workings of mighty deeds; and to another, prophecy; and to another, discerning of spirits; to another, various kinds of tongues; and to another, interpretation of tongues. But all these worketh the one and the same Spirit, distributing to each one, severally, even as He willeth.

And God, indeed, set some in the assembly: first, apostles; second, prophets; third, teachers; after that, miracles; then, gifts of healings, helps, governments, various kinds of tongues.
