In the same way the Spirit, too, is helping us in our weakness, for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself pleads for us with unspeakable yearnings,

And the following signs will attend those who believe: By using my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in foreign languages;

but He said to me, "My spiritual strength is sufficient, for it is only by means of conscious weakness that perfect power is developed."

and so fulfilled what was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, "He took our sicknesses and bore away our diseases."

and there was a woman there who for eighteen years had had a disease caused by a spirit. She was bent double and could not straighten herself up at all. As soon as Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and said to her, "Woman, you are freed from your disease!" Then He laid His hands on her, and at once she straightened herself up and burst into praising God.

But the news about Him continued to spread, and great crowds were gathering to hear Him and to be cured of their diseases.

And there was one man there who had been an invalid for thirty-eight years.

So I most happily boast about my weaknesses, so that the strength of Christ may overshadow me. That is why I take such pleasure in weaknesses, insults, distresses, persecution, and difficulties, which I endure for Christ's sake, for it is when I am consciously weak that I am really strong.

And yet you know that it was because of an illness of mine that I preached the good news to you the first time,

Stop drinking water only, but take a little wine to strengthen your stomach and relieve its frequent attacks.

For we do not have a High Priest who is incapable of sympathizing with us in our weaknesses, but we have One who was tempted in every respect as we are, and yet without committing any sin.
