Even from the towns around Jerusalem crowds continued coming in to bring their sick ones and those troubled with foul spirits, and they were all cured.

She kept this up for a number of days. Because Paul was so much annoyed by her, he turned and said to the spirit in her, "In the name of Jesus Christ I order you to come out of her." And that very moment it came out.

as an instrument that the people carried off to the sick, towels or aprons used by him, and at their touch they were cured of their diseases, and the evil spirits went out of them.

Then Jesus answered her, "O woman, wonderful is your faith! You must have what you want." And her daughter was cured at that very moment.

And Jesus reproved the demon, and it came out of him, and the boy was cured that very moment.

But the rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works their hands had done, so as to give up worshiping demons and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone, and wood, which cannot either see or hear or move;

Now the Spirit distinctly declares that in later times some will turn away from the faith, because they continuously give their attention to deceiving spirits and the things that demons teach

I mean that what the heathen sacrifice they sacrifice to demons, not to God, and I do not want you to be in fellowship with demons. You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You cannot eat at the table of the Lord and at the table of demons.

"Then He will say to those at His left, 'Be gone from me, you who are now cursed, to the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels.

For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but hurled them down to Tartarus and committed them to dark dungeons to await their doom,

And angels, who did not preserve their original rank but left their proper home, He has kept in everlasting chains under darkness, for the day of judgment,

And they suddenly screamed, "What do you want of us, you Son of God? Have you come here before the appointed time to torture us?"

When he saw Jesus, he screamed and flung himself down before Him, and said in a loud voice, "What do you want of me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg you not to torture me!"

And they suddenly screamed, "What do you want of us, you Son of God? Have you come here before the appointed time to torture us?"

And whenever the foul spirits saw Him, they fell down before Him and screamed, "You are the Son of God."

But on one occasion the evil spirit answered, "Jesus I know and Paul I know about, but who are you?"

When he saw Jesus, he screamed and flung himself down before Him, and said in a loud voice, "What do you want of me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg you not to torture me!"

Just at that moment there was a man in their synagogue who was under the spell of a foul spirit, and so he screamed, "What do you want of us, Jesus, you Nazarene? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are, God's Holy One!"

When they reached the crowd, a man came up to Him, kneeling before Him and saying, "Lord, do pity my son, for he has epilepsy and suffers excruciating pain, and often falls into the fire or into the water. I brought him to your disciples, and they could not cure him." read more.
And Jesus answered, "O you unbelieving and perverted people of the times! How long can I put up with you? Bring him here to me!" And Jesus reproved the demon, and it came out of him, and the boy was cured that very moment.

A man from the crowd answered Him, "Teacher, I brought my son to you, for he has a dumb spirit. Wherever it seizes him, it convulses him, and he foams at the mouth and grinds his teeth; and he is wasting away. So I asked your disciples to drive it out, but they could not do it." He answered them, "Oh, you unbelieving people of the times! How long must I be with you! How long must I put up with you! Bring him to me." read more.
And they brought the boy to Him. As soon as the spirit saw Him, it convulsed the boy, and he fell on the ground and kept rolling over and foaming at the mouth. Then He asked his father, "How long has he been like this?" He answered, "From his childhood; and many a time it has thrown him into the fire or into the water, to destroy him. But if there is anything you can do for him, do pity us and help us!" Jesus said to him, "If there is anything I can do! Everything is possible for him who has faith!" The boy's father at once cried out and said, "I do have faith; help my lack of faith!" Then Jesus, because He saw that a crowd was rushing up to Him, reproved the foul spirit and said to it, "You deaf and dumb spirit, get out of him, I charge you, and never get into him again." Then it gave a shriek and violently convulsed the boy, and got out of him. And the boy looked like a corpse, so much so that the people said that he was dead. But Jesus grasped his hand and raised him, and he got up.

The next day, when they had come down from the mountain, a great crowd met Him. Then a man in the crowd at once shouted, "Teacher, I beg you to look at my son, because he is my only child; all at once a spirit seizes him, and he suddenly screams, and it convulses him until he foams at the mouth, and in a struggle it bruises him and then leaves him. read more.
I begged your disciples to drive it out, but they could not." Then Jesus answered, "O you unbelieving, stubborn people of the times! How long must I be with you and put up with you? Bring him here to me." Even while the boy was coming to Him, the demon dashed him down and convulsed him, but Jesus reproved the foul spirit and cured the boy and gave back to his father.

Many of them said, "He is under the power of a demon and is going crazy. Why are you listening to Him?"

The crowd answered, "You are certainly under the power of a demon! Who is trying to kill you?"

And the scribes who had come down from Jerusalem kept saying, "He is under the spell of Beelzebub and by the help of the prince of the demons He drives out the demons." So He called them to Him, and continued speaking to them in short stories, as follows: "How can Satan drive out Satan? If a kingdom is disunited, that kingdom cannot last. read more.
And if a household is disunited, that household cannot last. And if Satan has made an insurrection against himself and become disunited, he cannot last but is surely coming to an end. But no one can get into a giant's house and carry off his goods, unless he first binds the giant; after that he can make a clean sweep of his house. I solemnly say to you, men will be forgiven for all their sins and all the abusive things they say. But whoever speaks abusively against the Holy Spirit can never get forgiveness, but is guilty of a sin that has no end." He said so, because they kept saying, "He is under the spell of a foul spirit."

Then the Jews answered Him, "Are we not right in saying that you are a Samaritan and are under the power of a demon?"

Even demons came out of many people, shrieking and saying, "You are the Son of God!" But He reproved them and would not let them speak, because they knew that He was the Christ.

But she came and bowed to Him, and kept praying, "Lord, help me!" He answered, "It is not right to take the children's bread and throw it to the house dogs." She said, "Yes, Lord, and yet the house dogs usually eat the crumbs that fall from their master's table." Then Jesus answered her, "O woman, wonderful is your faith! You must have what you want." And her daughter was cured at that very moment. Then Jesus left there and went to the shore of the sea of Galilee. Then He went up the hill and kept sitting there,

On the contrary, a woman, whose little daughter had a foul spirit, at once heard about Him and came and flung herself at His feet. She was a heathen who spoke Greek and had been born in Syro-Phenicia. And she kept begging Him to drive the demon out of her daughter. But He was saying to her, "Let the children first eat all they want, for it is not right to take the children's bread and throw it out to the house dogs." read more.
But she answered Him, "Yes, Lord, and yet the house dogs under the table usually eat the crumbs the children drop." Then He said to her, "Because you have said this, go home; the demon has gone out of your daughter." She went home and found her daughter lying in bed, and the demon gone out.

Then He called His twelve disciples to Him, and gave them authority over foul spirits, so that they could drive them out, and so that they could cure any disease or ailment.

And He called the Twelve to Him and sent them out two by two, and gave them power over the foul spirits.

And the following signs will attend those who believe: By using my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in foreign languages;

Just at that moment there was a man in their synagogue who was under the spell of a foul spirit, and so he screamed, "What do you want of us, Jesus, you Nazarene? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are, God's Holy One!" Jesus reproved him, saying, "Hush up, get out of him!" read more.
Then the foul spirit convulsed him and with a deafening shriek got out of him.

Now there was a man in the synagogue who was under the power of the spirit of a foul demon, and he screamed with a loud voice, "Ha! What do you want of us, Jesus, you Nazarene? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are. You are God's Holy One." But Jesus reproved him, saying "Be quiet! Get out of him at once!" So the demon threw the man down in the midst of them and came out of him without doing him any harm.

When He reached the other side, in the district of Gadara, there faced Him two men, who were under the power of demons, who were just coming out from the tombs. They were such terrors that nobody could pass that way. And they suddenly screamed, "What do you want of us, you Son of God? Have you come here before the appointed time to torture us?" Now there was not far from there a large drove of hogs feeding. read more.
And the demons kept begging Him and saying, "If you are going to drive us out, send us into the drove of hogs." And He said to them, "Be gone!" And they went out of the men and got into the hogs, and suddenly the whole drove, in a stampede, rushed over the cliff into the sea, and died in the water. And the men who fed them fled, and went off to the town, and told it all, and what occurred to the two men who were under the power of demons. And suddenly all the town turned out to meet Jesus, and as soon as they saw Him, they begged Him to move on and leave their neighborhood.

As soon as He got out of the boat, a man under the power of a foul spirit and from the tombs met Him. This man lived among the tombs, and no one could any longer subdue him even with a chain, for he had often been fastened with fetters and chains but had snapped the chains and broken the fetters, and no one was strong enough to overpower him. read more.
All night and all day he kept screaming among the tombs and on the hills, and kept gashing himself with stones. On catching a glimpse of Jesus from a distance, he ran up and fell down on his knees before Him, and screamed aloud, "What do you want of me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? In God's name, I beg you, do not torture me." For Jesus was saying to him, "You foul spirit, come out of him." He asked him, "What is your name?" He answered, "My name is Legion, for we are many." And they kept on earnestly begging Him not to send them out of that country. Now there was a large drove of hogs grazing on the hillside. And they begged Him, "Send us among the hogs, so that we can get into them." So He let them do so. And the foul spirits came out of the man and got into the hogs, and the drove of about two thousand rushed over the cliff and into the sea and were drowned. Then the hog-feeders fled and spread the news in the town and in the country around; and the people came to see what had taken place. When they came to Jesus and saw the man who had once been insane under the power of many demons, sitting, with his clothes on, and in his right mind, they were frightened. And those who had seen it told them how it occurred to the man who had been under the power of the demons, and about the hogs. Then they began to beg Jesus to leave their neighborhood. And as He was getting into the boat, the once insane man kept begging Him to let him go with Him. However, He did not let him, but said to him, "Go home to your folks, and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and has taken pity on you." And so he went away and began to tell everybody in the Ten Cities how much Jesus had done for him; and everybody was dumbfounded.

Once as we were on our way to the place of prayer, a slave girl met us who had the gift of magical fortune-telling, and continued to make great profits for her owners by fortune-telling. This girl kept following Paul and the rest of us, shrieking, "These men are slaves of the Most High God, and they are proclaiming to you a way of salvation." She kept this up for a number of days. Because Paul was so much annoyed by her, he turned and said to the spirit in her, "In the name of Jesus Christ I order you to come out of her." And that very moment it came out.

At that time some people brought to Him a man under the power of demons, who was blind and dumb, and He cured him, so that the dumb man could talk and see.

Now He was driving a dumb demon out of a man, and when the demon went out of him, the dumb man spoke. The crowds were astonished.

Now the seventy returned and joyously reported, "Lord, even the demons are submitting to us in your name."

John said to Him, "Teacher, we saw a man using your name to drive out demons, and we tried to stop him, for he was not one of our followers."

Now after He had risen, early on the first day of the week, He appeared first to Mary of Magdala, out of whom He had driven seven demons.

and some women who had been cured of evil spirits and diseases: Mary, who was called Mary of Magdala, out of whom seven demons had gone, and Joanna, the wife of Chuza, Herod's household manager, and Susanna, and many other women, who continued to contribute to their needs out of their personal means.

Wherever it seizes him, it convulses him, and he foams at the mouth and grinds his teeth; and he is wasting away. So I asked your disciples to drive it out, but they could not do it."

When Jesus got home and was by Himself, His disciples were asking Him, "Why could not we drive it out?" He answered them, "This sort of thing can be driven out only by prayer."

"Whenever the foul spirit goes out of a man, it wanders about in deserts in search of rest, but cannot find it. Then it says, 'I will go back to my house which I left,' and it finds it unoccupied, swept, and ready for use. "Then it goes and gets seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and make their home there, and so the end of that man is worse than the beginning. This is the way it will be with the wicked leaders of this age."

But some wandering Jews who claimed to be driving out the evil spirits tried to use the name of the Lord Jesus on those who had evil spirits in them, saying, "I command you by that Jesus whom Paul preaches!" Sceva, a Jewish high priest, had seven sons who were doing this. But on one occasion the evil spirit answered, "Jesus I know and Paul I know about, but who are you?" read more.
So the man in whom the evil spirit was, leaped upon them and so violently overpowered two of them that they ran out of the house stripped of their clothes and wounded.

For many of those under the power of foul spirits cried out and the spirits came out of them, and many paralyzed and crippled people were cured.

Do you believe in one God? Very well; the demons, too, believe that, and shudder.

When they came to Jesus and saw the man who had once been insane under the power of many demons, sitting, with his clothes on, and in his right mind, they were frightened.

He asked him, "What is your name?" He answered, "My name is Legion, for we are many."
