The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of wisdom; and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
And to man He said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom! And to depart from evil is understanding!
The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of wisdom; all practicing them have good understanding; His praise stands forever.
Who is wise and knowing among you? Let him show his works by his good conduct with meekness of wisdom.

Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the lawyer of this world? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? For since, in the wisdom of God, the world by wisdom did not know God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save those who believe.
You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life. And they are the ones witnessing of Me, and you will not come to Me that you might have life.

These things indeed have a reputation of wisdom in self-imposed worship and humility, and unsparing severity of the body, but are not of any value for the satisfying of the flesh.
But concerning the sacrifices to idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but love edifies. And if any man thinks that he knows anything, he knows nothing yet as he ought to know.
