The Pharisee noticed that he did not wash before the meal, and he was surprised.

He was at table in his house, with many tax-collectors and irreligious people who were at table with him and his disciples, for there were many of them among his followers.

One of the Pharisees asked him to have dinner with him, and he went to the Pharisee's house and took his place at the table.

As they were eating Jesus took a loaf and blessed it, and he broke it in pieces and gave it to his disciples, saying, "Take this and eat it. It is my body!"

Now that the Son of Man has come, he does eat and drink, and you say, 'Look at him! A glutton and a drinker, the companion of tax-collectors and irreligious people!'

While Jesus was at home at table, a number of tax-collectors and irreligious people came in and joined Jesus and his disciples at table.

Jesus said to them, "Come and have breakfast." None of the disciples dared to ask him who he was, for they knew it was the Master.

They gave a dinner for him there, and Martha waited on them, while Lazarus was at the table with him.

but they urged him not to, and said, "Stay with us, for it is getting toward evening, and the day is nearly over." So he went in to stay with them. And when he took his place with them at table, he took the bread and blessed it and broke it in pieces and handed it to them. Then their eyes were opened and they knew him, and he vanished from them.
