Let us search and put our ways to the test. Let us turn again to Jehovah.

Whoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of [sinning against] (falsely representing) the body and blood of the Lord. Let a man examine himself before he eats of that bread, and drinks of that cup. For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.

Examine yourselves, whether you are in the faith. Prove your own selves. Do you not know this about yourselves that Jesus Christ is with you, unless you are disqualified?

Each of you must examine your own actions. Then you can be proud of your own accomplishments without comparing yourself to others.

By this we shall know we are of the truth, and will assure our heart before him. If our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things. Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us we have confidence toward God.
