The second like it is this: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.'

The second is you should love your neighbor as yourself. No other commandment is greater than these. (Leviticus 19:18)

Do for others the same as you would have them to do for you. That is the meaning of the Law and the Prophets.

Honor your father and your mother, and Love your neighbor as yourself.

I say through the grace given to me that every man among you should not think more highly of himself than he ought to think. But to think soberly, just as God has dealt to every man the measure of faith.

No man ever hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it, even as Christ also does the congregation.

I have a mind as well as you! I am not inferior to you! Who does not know all these things?

Do you not know that your bodies are the members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ, and unite them with (turn them into) the members of a prostitute? God forbid! What? Do you not know that he who is joined to a prostitute is one (united with her) body? For he said: Two will be one flesh. He who is joined to the Lord is one (united with him in) spirit. Flee from fornication! Every sin that a man does is outside his body. But he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. What? Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit? That one (Greek: hos he ho which, that one) is in you. You received it from God. You are not your own. You are bought with a price! Therefore glorify God in your body.

And what agreement does a temple of God have with idols? We are the temple of the living God. God said: I will dwell in them, and walk among them; and I will be their God, and they will be my people. (Leviticus 26:12) (Zechariah 8:8)

In Christ you are assembled together as a place for God's Spirit to dwell.

For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be rejected, if it is received with thanksgiving.

Let the brother of humble circumstances glory in his high position (exaltation). But the rich must be glad when God humbles them. This is because they will wither like wildflowers and pass away.

Those members of the body, which seem to be weaker, are necessary. And those members of the body that we think to be less honorable, we offer these more honors. Our less acceptable parts have more abundant acceptability. For our acceptable parts have no need. But God has assembled the body together, having given more abundant honor to the part that was lacking.read more.
There should be no division in the body. So the members should have the same care for each other.

This is our pride and testimony of conscience. In holiness and Godly sincerity we behaved ourselves in the world, and more abundantly toward you. It was not by fleshly wisdom but by the grace of God.

He who speaks from his own authority seeks his own glory. He who seeks glory for the one who sent him is true. Unrighteousness is not found in him.

Each of you must examine your own actions. Then you can be proud of your own accomplishments without comparing yourself to others.

Pray for us, for we are persuaded that we have a good conscience. And we wish to live honorably in all things.

He said, O man greatly beloved, do not fear, peace be to you, be strong, yes, be strong. And when he spoke to me, I was strengthened, and said, Let my lord speak for you have strengthened me.

Jehovah is my strong defender. He is the one who has saved me. He is my God, and I will praise him, my father's God, and I will sing about his greatness.

God arms me with strength. Your perfect way sets me free.

Lord Jehovah, I put my hope in you. I have trusted in you since I was young.

For you are the glory of their strength and by your favor our horn (strength) is exalted (increased).

Jehovah makes me powerful and strong; he has saved me.

But the Lord stood by me, and strengthened me; that through me the message might be fully proclaimed, and that all the people of the nations might hear. I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion (Satan the Devil) (great danger) (1 Peter 5:8) (Psalm 22:21) (1 Thessalonians 2:18).

Does your respect for God give you confidence and your lifetime of integrity give you hope?

It is an honor for a man to cease from discord. Only fools start quarrels.

Every one of you should know how to possess his own vessel in holiness and honor,

Later the king of Ammon died. His son Hanun became king in his place. David thought: I will show kindness to Hanun since his father Nahash showed me kindness. David sent his servants to comfort Hanun after his father's death. When David's servants entered Ammonite territory, the Ammonite princes asked their master Hanun: Do you think David is honoring your father because he sent men to comfort you? Hanun seized David's men and shaved off half of each man's beard. He cut off their clothes from the waist down, and sent them away. David was told what happened. He sent someone to meet them because they were deeply humiliated. The king said to them: Stay at Jericho until your beards have grown back. Then return to Jerusalem.

In the course of time, Nahash king of the Ammonites died, and his son succeeded him as king. David thought: I will show kindness to Hanun son of Nahash, because his father showed kindness to me. So David sent a delegation to express his sympathy to Hanun concerning his father. David's men came to Hanun in the land of the Ammonites to express sympathy to him. The Ammonite nobles said to Hanun: Do you think David honors your father by sending men to you to express sympathy? Or have his men come to you to explore and spy out the country and overthrow it?read more.
Therefore Hanun seized David's men, shaved them, cut off their garments in the middle at the buttocks, and sent them away. David had a beautiful daughter named Tamar. She was Absalom's sister. She was also the half sister of Amnon. Amnon fell in love with her. Tamar was a virgin. Amnon could not think of a way to be alone with her. He was so upset about it that he made himself sick. Amnon had a friend named Jonadab. He was the son of David's brother Shimeah. Jonadab usually knew how to get what he wanted.read more.
Jonadab said to Amnon: You are the king's son. Even so day after day I see you looking sad. What is the problem? Amnon answered: I am in love with Tamar, the sister of my half brother Absalom. Jonadab said: Pretend that you are sick and go to bed. When your father comes to see you, say to him: 'Please ask my sister Tamar to come and feed me. I want her to fix the food here where I can see her. Then she can serve it to me.' So Amnon went to bed and pretended that he was sick. King David went to see him. Amnon said: Please have Tamar come and make a few cakes here where I can see her. Then she can serve them to me. David sent word to Tamar at the palace: Go to Amnon's house and fix him some food. She went there and found him in bed. She prepared dough and made some cakes there where he could see her. Then she baked the cakes. Tamar emptied them out of the pan for him to eat. But he refused to eat. He said: Send everyone away. So they all left. He said to her: Bring the cakes here to my bed and serve them to me. She took the cakes and went over to him. She offered them to him. He grabbed her and said: Come to bed with me! She said: No! Do not force me to do this disgraceful thing. It is evil. How could I ever hold up my head in public again? And you, you would be completely disgraced in Israel. Please speak to the king. I am sure he will give me to you. Amnon wouldn't listen to her. He grabbed his sister and raped her. After that Amnon developed an intense hatred for her. His hatred for her was greater than the lust he felt for her. Get out of here, he told her. She said: No, You do a greater wrong by sending me away than the other thing you did to me! He would not listen to her. He called his servant and said: Throw this woman out and lock the door! The servant forced her to leave. He locked the door behind her. The king's unmarried daughters used to wear long robes with sleeves. Tamar tore the robe she was wearing. She put ashes on her head. Then she covered her face with her hands. She cried loudly as she walked away. Tamar's brother Absalom said to her: How could Amnon have done such a terrible thing to you! But since he is your brother, do not tell anyone what happened. Just try not to think about it. Tamar soon moved into Absalom's house. She was always sad and lonely. King David heard what happened and he was furious! Absalom hated Amnon so much because he raped his sister Tamar. He would not speak to him anymore.

That same hour it was fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar. He was driven from men and did eat grass like bulls. His body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his hair grew like eagles' feathers, and his fingernails like birds' claws.

So if any one of you thinks you are important when you really are not, you are only fooling yourself.

When you succeed do not brag: 'I am rich. I earned it all myself.' Remember that Jehovah your God gives you the strength to make a living. That is how he keeps the promise he made to your fathers.

Though his pride reaches to the heavens and his head touches the clouds, he will perish forever like his own dung. Those who have seen him will say: Where is he?

Men younger than I am make fun of me now! Their fathers have always been so worthless that I would not let them help dogs guard sheep. They pick mallow (salt herb) from the underbrush, and the roots of the broom plant are their food. They are driven from the community. People shout at them in the same way they shout at thieves. Godless fools and worthless people are forced out of the land with whips. Now they make fun of me with songs. I have become a joke to them. Since they consider me disgusting, they keep their distance from me and don't hesitate to spit in my face. Because God has untied my cord and has made me suffer, they are no longer restrained in my presence. They have attacked me on my right side like a mob. They trip my feet and then prepare ways to destroy me. They break up my path, they promote my calamity and no one restrains them! As through a wide breach they come. Amid the crash they roll on. Terrorists turn on me; my honor is pursued as by the wind, and my prosperity has passed away like a cloud.

Just as he got out of the boat a man with an unclean spirit came to him from the tombs. He was living in the tombs. No man was able to bind him even with a chain. Often he was bound in chains and iron bands but he would break them. No man was strong enough to keep him still.read more.
Day and night in the tombs and in the mountains he cried out. He would cut himself with stones.

When he arrived on the shore, a demon-possessed man met him. He wore no clothes and did not live in a house but in the tombs. He had been this way a long time. When he saw Jesus he cried out and fell down in front of him. He shouted in a loud voice: What have I to do with you, Jesus, you Son of the Most High God? I implore you do not torment me. The spirit seized him many times. For this reason he was kept under guard, and bound with chains and fetters. Breaking the bands apart, he was driven by the demon into the deserts. There was a woman who had an issue of blood twelve years. She suffered treatment from many physicians but did not become better. She spent all her money and grew worse. Hearing about Jesus she came though the crowd and touched his garment.read more.
She said: If I touch his garments I shall be made whole.

A woman who had a hemorrhage (chronic flow of blood) for twelve years came behind him. She touched the border of his garment. She said to herself: If I touch his garment, I will be healed. Jesus turned to see her and said: Daughter, take courage; your faith has made you well. The woman was healed at that time.

There was a woman having an issue of blood twelve years. She spent all her money on physicians, and could not be healed by any. She came behind him and touched the border of his garment. Immediately the issue of blood stopped. Jesus said: Who touched me? Peter and the others with him said: Master, the people press in from all sides.read more.
Jesus said: Someone did touch me. I perceived that power went from me. When the woman knew she was discovered she trembled, fell down before him and declared in the presence of all the people why she touched him, and how she was healed immediately. He said to her: Daughter, your faith has made you whole; go in peace.

In a short time the younger son sold his share of the property. He left home with the money and traveled to a far away country where he wasted his money in reckless living. He spent everything! When a famine spread over that country he was left with nothing. He went to work for a citizen of that country who sent him to his farm to take care of the pigs.read more.

Entering a village he met ten men suffering from a dreaded skin disease. They shouted: Jesus! Master! Have pity on us!

Brothers, if someone is caught in any kind of wrongdoing, those of you who are spiritual should set him right. But you must do it in a gentle way. And keep an eye on yourselves, so that you will not be tempted, too.

Do not rebuke (censure) (criticize) an elder, but appeal to him as a father, the younger men as brothers. Treat the elder women as mothers, the younger as sisters, with much honor.

Show mercy to some who have doubt.
