1 Chronicles 19:1-5

2 Samuel 13:1-22

David had a beautiful daughter named Tamar. She was Absalom's sister. She was also the half sister of Amnon. Amnon fell in love with her. Tamar was a virgin. Amnon could not think of a way to be alone with her. He was so upset about it that he made himself sick. Amnon had a friend named Jonadab. He was the son of David's brother Shimeah. Jonadab usually knew how to get what he wanted.read more.
Jonadab said to Amnon: You are the king's son. Even so day after day I see you looking sad. What is the problem? Amnon answered: I am in love with Tamar, the sister of my half brother Absalom. Jonadab said: Pretend that you are sick and go to bed. When your father comes to see you, say to him: 'Please ask my sister Tamar to come and feed me. I want her to fix the food here where I can see her. Then she can serve it to me.' So Amnon went to bed and pretended that he was sick. King David went to see him. Amnon said: Please have Tamar come and make a few cakes here where I can see her. Then she can serve them to me. David sent word to Tamar at the palace: Go to Amnon's house and fix him some food. She went there and found him in bed. She prepared dough and made some cakes there where he could see her. Then she baked the cakes. Tamar emptied them out of the pan for him to eat. But he refused to eat. He said: Send everyone away. So they all left. He said to her: Bring the cakes here to my bed and serve them to me. She took the cakes and went over to him. She offered them to him. He grabbed her and said: Come to bed with me! She said: No! Do not force me to do this disgraceful thing. It is evil. How could I ever hold up my head in public again? And you, you would be completely disgraced in Israel. Please speak to the king. I am sure he will give me to you. Amnon wouldn't listen to her. He grabbed his sister and raped her. After that Amnon developed an intense hatred for her. His hatred for her was greater than the lust he felt for her. Get out of here, he told her. She said: No, You do a greater wrong by sending me away than the other thing you did to me! He would not listen to her. He called his servant and said: Throw this woman out and lock the door! The servant forced her to leave. He locked the door behind her. The king's unmarried daughters used to wear long robes with sleeves. Tamar tore the robe she was wearing. She put ashes on her head. Then she covered her face with her hands. She cried loudly as she walked away. Tamar's brother Absalom said to her: How could Amnon have done such a terrible thing to you! But since he is your brother, do not tell anyone what happened. Just try not to think about it. Tamar soon moved into Absalom's house. She was always sad and lonely. King David heard what happened and he was furious! Absalom hated Amnon so much because he raped his sister Tamar. He would not speak to him anymore.

Daniel 4:33

That same hour it was fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar. He was driven from men and did eat grass like bulls. His body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his hair grew like eagles' feathers, and his fingernails like birds' claws.

Deuteronomy 8:17-18

Job 30:1-15

Godless fools and worthless people are forced out of the land with whips. Now they make fun of me with songs. I have become a joke to them. Since they consider me disgusting, they keep their distance from me and don't hesitate to spit in my face. Because God has untied my cord and has made me suffer, they are no longer restrained in my presence. They have attacked me on my right side like a mob. They trip my feet and then prepare ways to destroy me. They break up my path, they promote my calamity and no one restrains them! As through a wide breach they come. Amid the crash they roll on. Terrorists turn on me; my honor is pursued as by the wind, and my prosperity has passed away like a cloud.

Mark 5:2-5

Just as he got out of the boat a man with an unclean spirit came to him from the tombs. He was living in the tombs. No man was able to bind him even with a chain. Often he was bound in chains and iron bands but he would break them. No man was strong enough to keep him still.read more.
Day and night in the tombs and in the mountains he cried out. He would cut himself with stones.

Luke 8:27-29

When he arrived on the shore, a demon-possessed man met him. He wore no clothes and did not live in a house but in the tombs. He had been this way a long time. When he saw Jesus he cried out and fell down in front of him. He shouted in a loud voice: What have I to do with you, Jesus, you Son of the Most High God? I implore you do not torment me. The spirit seized him many times. For this reason he was kept under guard, and bound with chains and fetters. Breaking the bands apart, he was driven by the demon into the deserts. There was a woman who had an issue of blood twelve years. She suffered treatment from many physicians but did not become better. She spent all her money and grew worse. Hearing about Jesus she came though the crowd and touched his garment.read more.

Matthew 9:20-22

A woman who had a hemorrhage (chronic flow of blood) for twelve years came behind him. She touched the border of his garment. She said to herself: If I touch his garment, I will be healed. Jesus turned to see her and said: Daughter, take courage; your faith has made you well. The woman was healed at that time.

Luke 8:43-48

There was a woman having an issue of blood twelve years. She spent all her money on physicians, and could not be healed by any. She came behind him and touched the border of his garment. Immediately the issue of blood stopped. Jesus said: Who touched me? Peter and the others with him said: Master, the people press in from all sides.read more.
Jesus said: Someone did touch me. I perceived that power went from me. When the woman knew she was discovered she trembled, fell down before him and declared in the presence of all the people why she touched him, and how she was healed immediately. He said to her: Daughter, your faith has made you whole; go in peace.

Luke 15:13-16

In a short time the younger son sold his share of the property. He left home with the money and traveled to a far away country where he wasted his money in reckless living. He spent everything! When a famine spread over that country he was left with nothing. He went to work for a citizen of that country who sent him to his farm to take care of the pigs.read more.
