Job 23:3-9

If only I knew how to find Him, so that I could go to His throne. I would plead my case before Him and fill my mouth with arguments. I would learn how He would answer me; and understand what He would say to me.read more.
Would He prosecute me forcefully? No, He will certainly pay attention to me. There an upright man could reason with Him, and I would escape from my Judge forever. If I go east, He is not there, and if I go west, I cannot perceive Him. When He is at work to the north, I cannot see Him; when He turns south, I cannot find Him.

These are but the fringes of His ways; how faint is the word we hear of Him! Who can understand His mighty thunder?

The wild animals enter [their] lairs and stay in their dens. The windstorm comes from its chamber, and the cold from the driving north winds. Ice is formed by the breath of God, and watery expanses are frozen. He saturates clouds with moisture; He scatters His lightning through them. They swirl about, turning round and round at His direction, accomplishing everything He commands them over the surface of the inhabited world. He causes this to happen for punishment, for His land, or for His faithful love. Listen to this, Job. Stop and consider God's wonders. Do you know how God directs His clouds or makes their lightning flash? Do you understand how the clouds float, those wonderful works of Him who has perfect knowledge? You whose clothes get hot when the south wind brings calm to the land, can you help God spread out the skies as hard as a cast metal mirror? Teach us what we should say to Him; we cannot prepare [our case] because of our darkness. Should He be told that I want to speak? Can a man speak when he is confused? Now men cannot [even] look at the sun when it is in the skies, after a wind has swept through and cleared them away. Yet out of the north He comes, [shrouded] in a golden [glow]; awesome majesty surrounds Him. The Almighty-we cannot reach Him- He is exalted in power! In His justice and righteousness, He will not oppress.

Psalm 139:6

[This] extraordinary knowledge is beyond me. It is lofty; I am unable to [reach] it.

Isaiah 40:13-14

Who has directed the Spirit of the Lord, or who gave Him His counsel? Who did He consult with? Who gave Him understanding and taught Him the paths of justice? Who taught Him knowledge and showed Him the way of understanding?
