So why do You tolerate those who are treacherous?
Why are You silent

Why does the Almighty not reserve times for judgment?
Why do those who know Him never see His days?
Lord, look! They set an ambush for me.
Powerful men attack me,
but not because of any sin or rebellion of mine.

they run and take up a position.

His wife said to him, “Do you still retain your integrity? Curse God and die!” “You speak as a foolish woman speaks,” he told her. “Should we accept only good from God and not adversity?” Throughout all this Job did not sin in what he said.
But He is unchangeable; who can oppose Him?
He does what He desires.
He will certainly accomplish what He has decreed for me,
and He has many more things like these in mind.
Therefore I am terrified in His presence;
when I consider this, I am afraid of Him.
Will the one who contends with the Almighty correct Him?
Let him who argues with God give an answer.
For I envied the arrogant;
I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

Naked I came from my mother’s womb,
and naked I will leave this life.
The Lord gives, and the Lord takes away.
Praise the name of Yahweh.
He said to mankind,
“The fear of the Lord is this: wisdom.
And to turn from evil is understanding.”
Indeed, it is true that God does not act wickedly
and the Almighty does not pervert justice.
Don’t fear those who kill the body but are not able to kill the soul; rather, fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
You could not possibly do such a thing: to kill the righteous with the wicked, treating the righteous and the wicked alike. You could not possibly do that! Won’t the Judge of all the earth do what is just?”
Cast your burden on the Lord,
and He will sustain you;
He will never allow the righteous to be shaken. God, You will bring them down
to the Pit of destruction;
men of bloodshed and treachery
will not live out half their days.
But I will trust in You.
After a long time, the king of Egypt died. The Israelites groaned because of their difficult labor, and they cried out; and their cry for help ascended to God because of the difficult labor.
When I am afraid,
I will trust in You.
In God, whose word I praise,
in God I trust; I will not fear.
What can man do to me?
But I will sing of Your strength
and will joyfully proclaim
Your faithful love in the morning.
For You have been a stronghold for me,

Rest in God alone, my soul,
for my hope comes from Him.
Let those who seek my life
be disgraced and confounded;
let those who wish me harm
be driven back and humiliated.
Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble;
He rescued them from their distress.
If the God we serve exists, then He can rescue us from the furnace of blazing fire, and He can rescue us from the power of you, the king. But even if He does not rescue us, we want you as king to know that we will not serve your gods or worship the gold statue you set up.”
Though the fig tree does not bud
and there is no fruit on the vines,
though the olive crop fails
and the fields produce no food,
though there are no sheep in the pen
and no cattle in the stalls,
yet I will triumph in Yahweh;
I will rejoice in the God of my salvation!
when He was reviled,
He did not revile in return;
when He was suffering,
He did not threaten
but entrusted Himself to the One who judges justly.
So those who suffer according to God’s will should, while doing what is good, entrust themselves to a faithful Creator.
casting all your care on Him, because He cares about you.
For the One who seeks an accounting
for bloodshed remembers them;
He does not forget the cry of the afflicted.
God saw the Israelites, and He took notice.
For the Lord saw that the affliction of Israel was very bitter. There was no one to help Israel, neither bond nor free.
For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked leads to ruin.
Now the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him—
those who depend on His faithful love
to deliver them from death
and to keep them alive in famine.
Look! The pay that you withheld from the workers who reaped your fields cries out, and the outcry of the harvesters has reached the ears of the Lord of Hosts.
Therefore, prophesy concerning the land of Israel and say to the mountains and hills, to the ravines and valleys: This is what the Lord God says: Look, I speak in My burning zeal because you have endured the insults of the nations. Therefore this is what the Lord God says: I swear that the nations all around you will endure their own insults.
Woe to him who dishonestly makes
wealth for his house
to place his nest on high,
to escape from the reach of disaster!
Many adversities come to the one who is righteous,
but the Lord delivers him from them all.
After Job had prayed for his friends, the Lord restored his prosperity and doubled his previous possessions. All his brothers, sisters, and former acquaintances came to his house and dined with him in his house. They sympathized with him and comforted him concerning all the adversity the Lord had brought on him. Each one gave him a qesitah and a gold earring. So the Lord blessed the last part of Job’s life more than the first. He owned 14,000 sheep, 6,000 camels, 1,000 yoke of oxen, and 1,000 female donkeys.
They will no longer hunger;
they will no longer thirst;
the sun will no longer strike them,
nor will any heat.
He will wipe away every tear from their eyes.
Death will no longer exist;
grief, crying, and pain will exist no longer,
because the previous things have passed away.
“I will come to you in judgment, and I will be ready to witness against sorcerers and adulterers; against those who swear falsely; against those who oppress the widow and the fatherless, and cheat the wage earner; and against those who deny justice to the foreigner. They do not fear Me,” says the Lord of Hosts.
“However, I know that the king of Egypt will not allow you to go, unless he is forced by a strong hand. I will stretch out My hand and strike Egypt with all My miracles that I will perform in it. After that, he will let you go.
When I tried to understand all this,
it seemed hopeless
until I entered God’s sanctuary.
Then I understood their destiny.
Indeed, You put them in slippery places;
You make them fall into ruin.
The Lord says:
I will not relent from punishing Damascus
for three crimes, even four,
because they threshed Gilead with iron sledges.
You will be filled with disgrace instead of glory.
You also—drink,
and expose your uncircumcision!
The cup in the Lord’s right hand
will come around to you,
and utter disgrace will cover your glory.
Then He will also say to those on the left, ‘Depart from Me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the Devil and his angels! For I was hungry
and you gave Me nothing to eat;
I was thirsty
and you gave Me nothing to drink;
I was a stranger
and you didn’t take Me in;
I was naked
and you didn’t clothe Me,
sick and in prison
and you didn’t take care of Me.’ read more.
“Then they too will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or without clothes, or sick, or in prison, and not help You?’ “Then He will answer them, ‘I assure you: Whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for Me either.’ “And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”
For judgment is without mercy to the one who hasn’t shown mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.
And if a righteous person is saved with difficulty,
what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?
Pay her back the way she also paid,
and double it according to her works.
In the cup in which she mixed,
mix a double portion for her.
As much as she glorified herself and lived luxuriously,
give her that much torment and grief,
for she says in her heart,
“I sit as a queen;
I am not a widow,
and I will never see grief.”
