Husbands, love your wives, as Christ also loved the assembly, and delivered Himself up for it, that He might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of the water in the word, that He might present to Himself the assembly, glorious, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing, but that it may be holy and without blemish.read more.
So ought husbands also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself; for no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, as also Christ the assembly; because we are members of His body. For this cause, will a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife, and the two shall be one flesh. This mystery is great; but I am speaking of Christ and of the assembly. Nevertheless, do ye also, severally, each one, so love his own wife, as himself; and let the wife see that she fear her husband.

He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bride-groom who stands and hears him greatly rejoices because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy, therefore, has been made full.

Jesus said to them, "Can the sons of the bridechamber mourn while the Bridegroom is with them! But there will come days, when the Bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then will they fast."

And Jesus said to them, "Can the sons of the bridechamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them? As long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast; but there will come days when the bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast in that day.

And Jesus said to them, "Can ye make the sons of the bride-chamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come; and, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, then they will fast in those days."

Come ye forth to meet him!' "Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the wise, 'Give us of your oil, because our lamps are going out.' But the wise answered, saying, 'Perhaps there will not be enough for us and you; go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.' And, while they were going away to buy, the bridegroom came, and the ready ones went in with him to the marriage feast; and the door was shut. "And afterward come also the remaining virgins, saying, 'Lord, Lord, open to us!' But he, answering, said, 'Verily I say to you, I know you not.' Watch, therefore, because ye know not the day, nor the hour!

For I am jealous over you with a godly jealousy; for I espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a pure virgin to Christ;

Let us rejoice, and exult, and give the glory to Him; because the marriage of the Lamb came, and His wife made herself ready." And it was given to her that she should clothe herself in fine linen, bright, pure; for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. And he says to me, "Write, Happy are those who have been called to the marriage supper of the Lamb." And he says to me, "These are true words of God."

And I saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband.

"And the Spirit and the bride say, 'Come'; and let him that hears say, 'Come'; and let him that thirsts say, 'Come'; he that will let him take the water of life freely.
