The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth: but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will, only in the Lord:
Be not unsuitably connected with infidels: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? or what communion hath light with darkness?
But to the rest say I, not the Lord, If any brother has an unbelieving wife, and she like to dwell with him, let him not put her away. And if any wife hath an unbelieving husband, and he like to dwell with her, let her not leave him. For a married woman is bound by the law to her husband while he is living; but if her husband die, she is discharged from the law of her husband. Therefore while her husband is living, she shall be called an adulteress if she become another man's: but if her husband be dead, she is free from the law; so that she is not an adulteress, though she become another man's.
Now to the unmarried and widows I say, it is good for them to continue so, as I do. But if they have not the gift of continence, let them marry; for it is better to marry than to burn with lust.
I would therefore have the younger widows marry, bear children, manage houshold affairs, and give no occasion to the adversary for reproach.
Whosoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery; and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from her husband committeth adultery.
and I tell you, that whosoever putteth away his wife, except for whoredom, and marrieth another, committeth adultery; and he that marrieth her so put away committeth adultery.

But those that are married, not I command, but the Lord, that the wife be not separated from her husband; (but if she separate, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband;) and that the husband put not away his wife.
but I say unto you, that whosoever shall put away his wife, except on account of whoredom, tempteth her to commit adultery; and if any man marry her that is divorced, he committeth adultery.
