That, which is born of the flesh, is flesh; and that, which is born of the Spirit, is spirit.
and hath made of one blood every nation of men to dwell upon all the face of the earth, having determined the seasons before-appointed them, and the bounds of their habitation;
Such as the earthy was, such are they also that are earthy: and such, as is the heavenly, are they also that are heavenly. And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
Wherefore as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin, so death passed upon all men, for to that all have sinned:
But not as the offence, so also is the free gift: for if through the offence of one many died, much more hath the grace of God, and the gift bestowed by the grace of one man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many. For the gift is not as the sentence was by one that sinned; for the sentence is passed from one offence to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences to justification. For if, by the offence of one, death reigned through one, much more they who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness, shall reign in life through one, even Jesus Christ.read more.
Therefore as by the offence of one the effect of it was upon all men to condemnation: so also by the righteousness of one, the effect was upon all men to justification of life. For as by the disobedience of one man many were made sinners; so by the obedience of One shall many be made righteous.
for as by man came death, by man cometh also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive.
(for the world was subjected to vanity, not willingly, but through him who made it subject:) in hope that they also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
among whom also we were all conversant heretofore in our carnal desires, indulging the appetites of the flesh and of our imaginations; and were by nature children of wrath, even as others.
For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions while we were under the law operated in our bodies so as to bring forth fruit unto death.
who though they knew the just judgement of God, (that they who commit such practises are worthy of death) yet not only do these very things, but also countenance and encourage others in the practice of them.
Thus ye testify that ye approve of the deeds of your fathers; for they put them to death, and ye build their sepulchres.
And bending his knees, he cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this he fell asleep.
And when the blood of thy martyr Stephen was shed, I also stood by and consented to his death, and kept the clothes of them that slew him.
Thou who hast faith, have it to thyself before God: and happy is he that condemneth not himself in what he alloweth himself to do.
And have no communion with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
Consider Israel according to the flesh, Are not they, that eat of the sacrifices, partakers of the altar? What say I then? that the idol is any thing, or that what is sacrificed to an idol is in itself any thing to stumble at? No: but this I say, that what the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons, and not to God.
but as He who hath called you is holy, be ye also holy in all your conversation: since it is written, Be ye holy, for I am holy.
Be not unsuitably connected with infidels: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? or what communion hath light with darkness?
And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out from her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye may not suffer by her plagues:
The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth: but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will, only in the Lord:
Wherefore, "come out from the midst of them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch no unclean thing," and I will receive you:
Lay hands on no man precipitately, and be not hereby a partaker in the sins of others. Keep thyself pure.
Now I exhort you, brethren, to mark those who cause divisions and offences, contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned:
I wrote to you in an epistle, not to associate with whoremongers: but I did not mean not at all with the whoremongers of this world, or the covetous, or rapacious, or idolaters: since ye must then go out of the world. But now I have written to you, not to associate with him, if any one, that is called a brother, be a whoremonger, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or rapacious; with such a one no not to eat.
by this epistle, mark such a one, and do not keep company with him, that he may be ashamed.
