Wherefore we would have come unto you (even I Paul) once and again; but Satan hindered us.

And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, who accused them before our God day and night.

I would therefore have the younger widows marry, bear children, manage houshold affairs, and give no occasion to the adversary for reproach.

Fear none of the things which thou wilt suffer: behold the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall suffer affliction ten days. Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.

Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the Devil. For our conflict is not with flesh and blood only, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the world and of the darkness of this age, against wicked spirits in heavenly places. Take therefore the complete armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all to stand.

And there was war in heaven, Michael and his angels fought against the dragon: and the dragon fought, and his angels;

But He turned and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan, thou art an offence to me; for thou regardest not the things of God, but those that be of men.

But He turned about and looking on his disciples reproved Peter, saying, Get thee behind me Satan; for thou savourest not the things of God, but the things that be of men.

saying, "Behold a sower went out to sow; and as he was sowing, some seeds fell by the way-side, and the birds came and ate them up: some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth; and they soon sprung up indeed, because they had no depth of earth;read more.
but when the sun rose, they were burnt up, and withered; because they had no root: and others fell among thorns; and the thorns grew up and choked them: but others fell on good ground, and yielded fruit, some an hundred-fold, some sixty, and some thirty. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear." And the disciples came to Him and said, Why dost thou speak to them in parables? And He answered them, saying, Because it is granted unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not granted: for whosoever really hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have abundantly; but whosoever thus hath not, even that which he hath, shall be taken away from him: for this reason I speak to them in parables; because though they see, they will not see; and though they hear, they will not hear, nor understand. And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah, which saith, Ye shall hear by the hearing of the ear, and not understand; and in seeing ye shall see, and not perceive: for the heart of this people is grown stupid, and their ears are dull of hearing, and they have closed their eyes; least they should see at all with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them. But blessed are your eyes, for they see; and your ears, for they hear: for indeed I tell you, that many prophets and righteous men have desired to see the things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear what ye hear, and have not heard them. Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower. When any one heareth the word of the gospel-kingdom, and regardeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and snatcheth away that which was sown in his heart: this is he who received the seed as by the way-side.

And he said unto them, To you it is granted to know the mystery of the kingdom of God; but unto them that are without all things are delivered in parables: that in seeing they may see and not perceive, and in hearing they may hear and not understand, least they should be converted, and their sins be forgiven them. Then saith He unto them, Do ye not understand this parable? how then will ye understand all my other parables. The sower is he that soweth the word. And these are they by the way-side: where the word is sown; but when they have heard it, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts. And in like manner, they that are sown as on stony grounds are such, as when they hear the word,

And when a great multitude was gathered together, of those that came to Him out of every city, He spake a parable saying, A sower went out to sow his seed, and as he was sowing, some fell by the way-side, and was trodden down, and the birds of the air devoured it. And some fell upon stony ground, and as soon as it sprung up, it withered away, because it had no moisture.read more.

And as He said these things He cried out, "He that hath ears to hear, let him hear." And his disciples asked Him, what might be the meaning of this parable. And He said, To you it is granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but I speak to others in parables, that in seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand. Now this is the meaning of the parable, The seed is the word of God: and those by the way-side, are such as hear indeed; but then the devil cometh and taketh away the word from their hearts, least they should believe and be saved.

Another parable propounded He unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like a man, who sowed good grain in his ground: but while men were asleep, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went away. Now when the blade shot forth, and produced the corn, then the tares also appeared.read more.
So the servants came to their master, and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? whence then are the tares? And he said unto them, Some enemy hath done this. The servants therefore said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? But he said, No: least in plucking up the tares ye root up the corn along with them. Let both grow together till harvest, and in the time of the harvest I will say to the reapers, First gather the weeds together, and bind them in bundles to burn them; but carry the wheat into my barn. Another parable delivered He unto them, saying, The gospel-kingdom is like a grain of mustard-seed, which a man took and sowed in his field. Which is indeed one of the lest of all seeds: but when it is grown, is the greatest among herbs, and even becometh a tree; so that the birds of the air come and lodge in it's branches. Another parable spake He unto them, saying, The gospel-kingdom is like leaven, which a woman took and put into a large quantity of dough, till the whole was leavened. All these things spake Jesus in parables to the multitudes; and at this time He spake nothing to them without a parable: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables, I will publish things which have been concealed from the foundation of the world. Then Jesus leaving the multitude went into the house; and his disciples came to Him, saying, Explain to us the parable of the tares of the field: and He answered them, and said, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man; the field is the world; the good seed are the children of my kingdom; and the tares are the children of the wicked one. The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.

But Elymas the magician (for so his name signifies) withstood them endeavouring to turn away the proconsul from the faith. Then Saul, who also is called Paul, being filled with the holy Spirit, and looking earnestly at him, said, O thou son of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, who art full of all deceit and craft, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?

Little children, let no one deceive you: he that practiseth righteousness is righteous, even as He is righteous: he, that makes a practise of sin, is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. And for this the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doth not practise righteousness, and he who loveth not his brother, is not of God:

And he opened his mouth in blasphemies against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and those that dwell in heaven.

Behold I give you power to trample upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the might of the enemy; and nothing shall at all hurt you.

And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the devil and Satan, who deceiveth the whole world: he was cast down to the earth, and his angels were cast down with him.

And he seized the dragon, that old serpent, who is the devil and satan, and bound him a thousand years, and cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he might deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years be finished: and then he must be loosed for a little time.

what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath a believer with an infidel?

And his tail drew a third part of the stars of heaven, and cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman, who was ready to bring forth, that when she was delivered, he might devour her child.

But I fear least as the serpent seduced Eve by his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the purity that is in Christ.

Now is the judgement of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.

I shall not have much more conversation with you: for the prince of this world is coming; not that he hath any thing in me,

and of judgement, because the prince of this world is judged.

And they had a king over them, the angel of the bottomless pit; whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in the Greek tongue Apollyon.
