and I tell you, that whosoever putteth away his wife, except for whoredom, and marrieth another, committeth adultery; and he that marrieth her so put away committeth adultery.
Whosoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery; and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from her husband committeth adultery.
For a married woman is bound by the law to her husband while he is living; but if her husband die, she is discharged from the law of her husband.
And it has been said, whosoever would put away his wife, let him give her a bill of divorce:

Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed is not defiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.
so that they are no longer two, but one flesh. And therefore what God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth: but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will, only in the Lord:
And the pharisees came to Him and asked Him, "if it were lawful for a man to put away his wife," tempting Him. And he answered and said unto them, What did Moses command you? And they said, Moses permitted a man to write a bill of divorce, and to put her away.read more.
And Jesus replied, He wrote this precept on account of your cruel tempers: but from the beginning of the world, God created them male and female. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and be joined to his wife, and they two shall be one flesh: so that they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore let not man separate what God hath joined together. And when they were in the house his disciples asked Him again about it: and He told them, Whoever putteth away his wife and marrieth another, committeth adultery against her. And if a woman be divorced from her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery.
But those that are married, not I command, but the Lord, that the wife be not separated from her husband;
He answered them, Moses because of your hardheartedness, permitted you to put away your wives; but it was not so from the beginning:
and He told them, Whoever putteth away his wife and marrieth another, committeth adultery against her.
And the pharisees came to Him to ensnare Him, and asked Him, whether it was lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause? And He answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that He, who made them at first, made them male and female, and said, For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and be joined to his wife, and they two shall be one flesh:read more.

But Jesus went to the mount of Olives; and returned early in the morning into the temple, and all the people came to Him: and He sat down, and taught them. And the scribes and pharisees brought to Him a woman taken in adultery;read more.
and setting her in the midst, they said to Him, "This woman was caught in the very act, committing adultery. Now Moses in the law has commanded us that such women should be stoned, but what sayest Thou?" This they said to tempt Him, that they might have something to accuse Him of. But Jesus stooping down, wrote with his finger upon the ground. And as they continued asking Him, He raised himself up and said unto them, "Let him that is without sin among you, first cast a stone at her." Then He stooped down again and wrote on the ground. But when they heard his answer, being convicted by their own conscience, they went out one by one, beginning at the elder, even to the last. And Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst of the people. Then Jesus rising up, and seeing none but the woman, said unto her, Where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? And she said, None, Lord. Then said Jesus unto her, Neither do I condemn thee, Go thy way and sin no more.
(but if she separate, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband;) and that the husband put not away his wife.
and He told them, Whoever putteth away his wife and marrieth another, committeth adultery against her. And if a woman be divorced from her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery.
For a married woman is bound by the law to her husband while he is living; but if her husband die, she is discharged from the law of her husband. Therefore while her husband is living, she shall be called an adulteress if she become another man's: but if her husband be dead, she is free from the law; so that she is not an adulteress, though she become another man's.

But to the rest say I, not the Lord, If any brother has an unbelieving wife, and she like to dwell with him, let him not put her away.read more.

For the unbelieving husband is sanctified in the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified in the husband: else were your children unclean; but they are holy. But if the unbeliever depart, let them depart; a brother or a sister is not bound in such cases.

but Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing publicly to expose her, was inclined to break off the contract with her privately;
Ye have heard, that it was said to the ancients, Thou shalt not commit adultery:
But if the unbeliever depart, let them depart; a brother or a sister is not bound in such cases.

It is commonly reported that there is lewdness among you, and such lewdness as is not named even amongst the heathens, that one should have his father's wife.
so he turned and said to them, If any man come to me, and does not comparatively hate his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea and his own life too, he cannot be my disciple.

His disciples say unto Him, if the case of a man with his wife be thus, it is not adviseable to marry: but He said unto them, All men cannot receive this saying of yours, but those only who have the gift of continence: for there are some eunuchs, who were born so from their mother's womb; and there be some, who were made eunuchs by men; and there are eunuchs, who have made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. He that can receive this saying, let him receive it.
And if he trespass against thee seven times a day, and seven times in a day return to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.
And to whom ye forgive any thing, I also forgive it: for if I have forgiven any thing, I forgave it him, to whom I did forgive it, for your sakes, in the person of Christ; that we might not be foiled by Satan:
What! know ye not that the unjust shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor the effeminate, nor sodomites,
But the fearful, and faithless, and abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake that burneth with fire and brimstone; which is the second death.

Nevertheless to prevent whoredoms, let every one have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband. Let the husband render to the wife due benevolence; and in like manner also the wife to the husband. The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband; and in like manner also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife.read more.
Do not withdraw from one another, unless by consent for a season, that ye may attend to fasting and prayer: and come together again, least Satan tempt you through your incontinency.
Wherefore though God overlooked the times of this ignorance, He now requireth all men every where to repent.
with his mighty angels, in flaming fire, taking vengeance on those who know not God, and who obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
