Take heed, therefore, to yourselves, and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the assembly of the Lord and God which he purchased with his own blood.
Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, exercising the oversight, not under compulsion, but voluntarily, not for dishonest gain, but willingly;
Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they watch on behalf of your souls, as those who will give account, that they may do this with joy, and not with groaning, for that would be unprofitable for you.
Now I beg you, brothers, look out for those who are causing the divisions and occasions of stumbling, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and turn away from them.
The overseer therefore must be without reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, sensible, modest, hospitable, good at teaching;
The things which you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit the same to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.
Pay attention to yourself, and to your teaching. Continue in these things, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you.
neither as lording it over those entrusted to you, but making yourselves examples to the flock.
But we beg you, brothers, to know those who labor among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you, and to respect and honor them in love for their work's sake. Be at peace among yourselves.
Receive him therefore in the Lord with all joy, and hold such in honor,
Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in the word and in teaching.
Now I beg you, brothers (you know the house of Stephanas, that it is the first fruits of Achaia, and that they have set themselves to serve the saints), that you also be in subjection to such, and to everyone who helps in the work and labors.
Even so the Lord ordained that those who proclaim the Good News should live from the Good News.
Remain in that same house, eating and drinking the things they give, for the laborer is worthy of his wages. Don't go from house to house.
But let him who is taught in the word share all good things with him who teaches.
For the Scripture says, "You shall not muzzle the ox when it treads out the grain." And, "The laborer is worthy of his wages."
Now I beg you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ, and by the love of the Spirit, that you strive together with me in your prayers to God for me,
on my behalf, that utterance may be given to me in opening my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the Good News,
For I know that this will turn out to my salvation, through your supplication and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,
Pray for us, for we are persuaded that we have a good conscience, desiring to live honorably in all things.
Receive him therefore in the Lord with all joy, and hold such in honor, because for the work of Christ he came near to death, risking his life to supply that which was lacking in your service toward me.
That which was a temptation to you in my flesh, you didn't despise nor reject; but you received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus.
Remember your leaders, men who spoke to you the word of God, and considering the results of their conduct, imitate their faith.
Tell Archippus, "Take heed to the ministry which you have received in the Lord, that you fulfill it."
Having gifts differing according to the grace that was given to us, if prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of our faith; or service, let us give ourselves to service; or he who teaches, to his teaching; or he who exhorts, to his exhorting: he who gives, let him do it with liberality; he who rules, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.
Now there are various kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are various kinds of service, and the same Lord. There are various kinds of workings, but the same God, who works all things in all.read more.
But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the profit of all. For to one is given through the Spirit the word of wisdom, and to another the word of knowledge, according to the same Spirit; to another faith, by the same Spirit; and to another gifts of healings, by the same Spirit; and to another workings of miracles; and to another prophecy; and to another discerning of spirits; to another different kinds of languages; and to another the interpretation of languages. But the one and the same Spirit works all of these, distributing to each one separately as he desires.
But to each one of us was the grace given according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
For you, brothers, were called for freedom. Only don't use your freedom for gain to the flesh, but through love be servants to one another.
In love of the brothers be tenderly affectionate one to another; in honor preferring one another;
Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law.
Put on therefore, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, humility, and perseverance; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do. Above all these things, walk in love, which is the bond of perfection.
and the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we also do toward you,
Seeing you have purified your souls in your obedience to the truth through the Spirit in sincere brotherly affection, love one another from the heart fervently:
This is his commandment, that we should believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another, even as he commanded.
with all lowliness and humility, with patience, bearing with one another in love;
Let's not become conceited, provoking one another, and envying one another.
Likewise, you younger ones, be subject to the elder. Yes, all of you clothe yourselves with humility, to subject yourselves to one another; for "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble."
We exhort you, brothers, admonish the disorderly, encourage the fainthearted, support the weak, be patient toward all.
Don't grumble, brothers, against one another, so that you won't be judged. Behold, the judge stands at the door.
Therefore accept one another, even as Christ also accepted you, to the glory of God.
