And the passover, the feast of the Jews, was nigh. And Jesus said, Make the people sit down. And there was much grass in the place. However the men sat down in number about five thousand. And Jesus took the bread; and gave thanks, and gave it to the disciples, and the disciples to the people sitting down; and likewise also of the fishes so much as they wished. And when they were filled, He says to His disciples, Gather up the remaining fragments, that nothing may be lost. Then they gathered them up, and filled twelve baskets from the live barley loaves, which remained to those having eaten. Then the people, seeing the miracle which Jesus did, were saying, that, This is truly the prophet who is coming into the world. And Jesus knowing that they are about to come and take Him, that they may make Him king, departs again into the mountain Himself alone.
