Not that I speak on account of want; for I have learned, in whatever state I am, therewith to be content.
in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus in regard to you.
And do not ye murmur, as some of them murmured, and perished by the Destroyer. Now these things happened to them as warnings, and were recorded for our admonition, to whom the ends of the ages have come.
And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to his disciples, Why doth your teacher eat with the publicans and sinners?
And when they saw that he was eating with the publicans and sinners, they said to his disciples, Doth he eat and drink with publicans and sinners?
And the Pharisees and their scribes murmured against his disciples, saying, Why do ye eat and drink with the publicans and sinners?
But the Pharisees, seeing it, said to him, Lo! thy disciples are doing that which it is not lawful to do on the sabbath.
And the Pharisees said to him, See, why are they doing on the sabbath that which is not lawful?
And some of the Pharisees said, Why are ye doing that which it is not lawful to do on the sabbath?
Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.
then the Pharisees and scribes ask him, Why do not thy disciples walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with defiled hands?
And the Pharisees and the scribes murmured, saying, This man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them.
The Jews therefore murmured about him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven; and they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, one whose father and mother we know? How is it then that this man saith, I have come down from heaven? Jesus therefore answered and said to them, Murmur not among yourselves.
But in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplying, there arose a murmuring of the Hellenists against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration.
And as Paul was about to open his mouth, Gallio said to the Jews, If it were some act of injustice or wicked misdeed, O Jews, with reason I should bear with you; but if it be questions of doctrine, and names, and your law, look to it yourselves; I will not be a judge of these matters.
But Martha was cumbered about much serving; and she came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? Tell her therefore to help me.
And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, He hath gone in to be the guest of a sinner.
These are murmurers, complaining of their lot, walking according to their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words; admiring mens persons, for the sake of profit.
