God blessed the humans by saying to them, "Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth, and subdue it! Be masters over the fish in the ocean, the birds that fly, and every living thing that crawls on the earth!"
What you have heard from me through many witnesses entrust to faithful people who will be able to teach others as well.
Thanksgiving and the sounds of laughter will come out of them. I'll cause them to increase in numbers and not decrease. I'll honor them and not make them insignificant.
So the church throughout Judea, Galilee, and Samaria enjoyed peace. As it continued to be built up and to live in the fear of the Lord, it kept increasing in numbers through the encouragement of the Holy Spirit.
Then Jesus called his disciples and said, "I have compassion for the crowd because they have already been with me for three days and have nothing to eat. I don't want to send them away without food, or they may faint on the road." The disciples asked him, "Where in the wilderness are we to get enough bread to feed such a crowd?" Jesus asked them, "How many loaves of bread do you have?" They said, "Seven, and a few small fish."read more.
Ordering the crowd to sit down on the ground, he took the seven loaves and the fish and gave thanks. Then he broke them in pieces and kept giving them to his disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds. All of them ate until they were filled, then the disciples picked up what was left of the broken pieces seven baskets full. Now those who had eaten were four thousand men, besides women and children. After he sent the crowds away, he got into a boat and went to the region of Magadan.
After this, Jesus went away to the other side of the Sea of Galilee (that is, to Tiberias). A large crowd kept following him because they had seen the signs that he was performing by healing the sick. But Jesus went up on a hillside and sat down there with his disciples.read more.
Now the Passover, the festival of the Jews, was near. When Jesus looked up and saw that a large crowd was coming toward him, he asked Philip, "Where can we buy bread for these people to eat?" Jesus said this to test him, because he himself knew what he was going to do. Philip answered him, "Two hundred denarii worth of bread isn't enough for each of them to have a little." One of his disciples, Andrew, who was Simon Peter's brother, told him, "There's a little boy here who has five barley loaves and two small fish. But what are these among so many people?" Jesus said, "Have the people sit down." Now there was plenty of grass in that area, so they sat down, numbering about 5,000 men. Then Jesus took the loaves, gave thanks, and distributed them to those who were seated. He also distributed as much fish as they wanted. When they were completely satisfied, Jesus told his disciples, "Collect the pieces that are left over so that nothing is wasted." So they collected and filled twelve baskets full of pieces of the five barley loaves left over by those who had eaten. When the people saw the sign that he had done, they kept saying, "Truly this is the Prophet who was to come into the world!" Then Jesus, realizing that they were about to come and take him by force to make him king, withdrew again to the hillside by himself.
Remain in this land, and I'll be with and bless you by giving all these lands to you and to your descendants in fulfillment of my solemn promise that I made to your father Abraham. I'll cause you to have as many descendants as the stars of the heavens, and I'll certainly give all these lands to your descendants. Only he must not amass horses for himself or cause the people to return to Egypt to obtain more horses. For the LORD said you must never return that way again. How deep are your thoughts, God! How great is their number! Were I to count them, they would number more than the sand. When I awake, I will be with you.
