The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; sound understanding belongs to those who practice it. Praise of God endures forever.
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.

As a father has compassion for his children, so the LORD has compassion for those who fear him.

Among those nations you'll have no rest. There'll be no resting place for the soles of your feet. Instead, the LORD will give you an anxious heart, failing eyesight, and a despairing spirit. You'll cling to life, being fearful by both night and day, with no assurance of survival. In the morning you'll say, "I wish it were evening.' Yet in the evening you'll say, "I wish it were morning,' on account of what you'll dread and what you'll see.
Fearing the LORD prolongs life, but the wicked will not live long.
The fear of the LORD leads to life; whoever is satisfied with it will rest, untouched by evil.

So the church throughout Judea, Galilee, and Samaria enjoyed peace. As it continued to be built up and to live in the fear of the Lord, it kept increasing in numbers through the encouragement of the Holy Spirit.
