"And the merchants of the earth weep and mourn over her; because no one buys their merchandise any more; merchandise of gold, and of silver, and of precious stone, and of pearls, and of fine linen, and of purple, and of silk, and of scarlet, and of every kind of fragrant wood, and every vessel of ivory, and every vessel of most precious wood, and of brass, and of iron, and of marble, and cinnamon, and spice, and incense, and ointment, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and cattle, and sheep, and of horses, and of chariots, and of slaves, and souls of men.

And, coming into the house, they saw the Child with Mary, His mother; and, falling down, they paid Him homage; and, having opened their treasures, they presented to Him gifts??old and frankincense and myrrh.

And they bring Him to the place Golgotha, which is, being interpreted, "The place of a skull." And they were offering Him wine mingled with myrrh: but He did not take it.

And after these things Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly through fear of the Jews, asked of Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus; and Pilate gave him permission. He came, therefore, and took away His body. And there came also Nicodemus, he who at the first came to Him by night, bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about a hundred pounds. So they took the body of Jesus, and bound it in linen cloths with the spices, as the custom of Jews is to bury.
