And [immediately] his ears were opened, and the impediment of his tongue was loosed, and he spoke plainly. And he commanded them to tell no one; but the more he charged them, the more widely they proclaimed it. And they were astonished beyond measure, saying, "He has done all things well. He even makes the deaf to hear and the mute to speak."
When those around him saw what was going to happen, they said, "Lord, shall we strike with the sword?" And one of them struck the servant of the high priest and cut off his right ear. But Jesus answered, "No more of this!" And he touched his ear and healed him.
