Then the Pharisees, going, took counsel how they might ensnare Him in speech. And they send to Him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, "Teacher, we know that Thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth, and carest not for any one; for Thou dost not look into the face of men: tell us, therefore, what thinkest Thou: Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar or not?"read more.
But Jesus, knowing their wickedness, said, "Why are ye tempting Me, hypocrites? Show me the tribute-coin." And they brought Him a denary. And He saith to them, "Whose is this image and inscription?" They say to Him, "Caesar's." Then saith He to them, "Render, therefore, the things of Caesar to Caesar, and the things of God to God." And, hearing it, they wondered: and, leaving Him, they went away.

And they send to Him some of the Pharisees and of the Herodians, that they may entrap Him in speech. And, coming, they say to Him, "Teacher, we know that Thou art true, and carest not for any one; for Thou lookest not into the face of men, but in truth teachest the way of God. Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not? Shall we give, or shall we not give?" But He, knowing their hypocrisy, said to them, "Why are ye tempting Me? Bring Me a denary, that I may see it."read more.
And they brought it. And He saith to them, "Whose is this image and inscription?" And they said to Him, "Caesar's." And Jesus said to them, "Render to Caesar the things of Caesar, and to God the things of God." And they wondered exceedingly at Him.

And, watching Him, they sent forth spies, feigning themselves to be righteous, that they might take hold of His speech, so as to deliver Him up to the rule and the authority of the governor. And they asked Him, saying, "Teacher, we know that Thou sayest and teachest rightly, and regardest no person, but teachest the way of God in truth. Is it lawful for us to give tribute to Caesar, or not?"read more.
But, perceiving their craftiness, He said to them, "Show Me a denary. Whose image and inscription has it?" And, answering; they said, "Caesar's." And He said to them, "Then, render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's." And they were not able to lay hold of any saying of His before the people; and, marvelling at His answer, they were silent.

And, fearing lest perhaps we might wreck against rocky places, having cast four anchors out of the stern, they were praying that day would come. And, when the sailors were seeking to escape out of the ship, and had lowered the boat into the sea, by pretext, as though they were about to cast anchors out of the prow,

When, therefore, you are doing alms, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say to you, they receive their reward.

"Woe to you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye are like white-washed sepulchres, which outwardly, indeed, appear beautiful, but within are full of bones of the dead and of all uncleanness. So ye also outwardly, indeed, appear righteous to men; but within ye are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.

And Jesus, answering, said to them, "Take heed that no one lead you astray; for many will come in My name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will lead many astray.

And Jesus began to say to them, "Take heed, lest some one lead you astray. Many will come in My name, saying, 'I am He', and will lead many astray.

And He said, "Take heed that ye be not led astray; for many will come in My name, saying, 'I am He,' and, 'The season has drawn near!' Go not after them.

Hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying, 'This people honor Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me.

And He said to them, "Well did Isaiah prophesy concerning you hypocrites, as it has been written, This people honor me with their lips; but their heart is far from Me.

Having, therefore, put away all wickedness, and all guile, and hypocrisy, and envies, and all evil speakings,

In the meantime, the vast multitude having been gathered together, so as to tread one upon another, He began to say to His disciples, first, "Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

For to this were ye called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that ye should follow His steps; Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth;

casting down reasonings, and every high thing lifting itself up against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ;
