And ye have quite forgotten the consolation which speaks unto you as unto sons, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art reproved of him: for whom the Lord loves, he chastens and scourges everyone whom he receives as a son. If ye endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father does not chasten?
My son, do not despise the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction: For the LORD chastens whom he loves and delights in, even as a father to his son.
Out of the heavens he made thee to hear his voice that he might instruct thee, and upon earth he showed thee his great fire, and thou hast heard his words out of the midst of the fire.
And know in thine heart, that as a man chastens his son, so the LORD thy God chastens thee.
I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commits iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men and with the stripes of the sons of men;
Behold, blessed is the man whom God chastens; therefore, do not despise not the correction of the Almighty.
He opens their ear to instruction and commands that they turn from iniquity.
When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long. For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my green growth is turned into the drought of summer. Selah.
Blessed is the man whom thou dost chasten, O JAH, and teach him out of thy law, to cause him to rest in the days of adversity, until the pit is dug for the wicked.
I know, O LORD, that thy judgments are right and that thou in faithfulness hast afflicted me.
Saying, Surely now thou wilt fear me; thou wilt receive chastisement; so thy dwelling shall not be thrown down, all of which I visited upon her; but they rose early, and corrupted all their doings.
Blessed is the man that patiently endures temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to those that love him.
As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten; be zealous therefore, and repent.
For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. For if we would examine ourselves, we should not be judged. But being judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.
And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took each of them his censer and put fire therein and put incense thereon and offered strange fire before the LORD, which he had never commanded them. And there went out fire from the LORD and devoured them, and they died before the LORD. And it came to pass that the people complained in an evil manner in the ears of the LORD, and the LORD heard it; and his anger was kindled, and the fire of the LORD burnt among them and consumed in the uttermost parts of the camp. Then the people cried unto Moses, and when Moses prayed unto the LORD, the fire was quenched. And he called the name of the place Taberah because the fire of the LORD burnt among them.
And the messenger answered and said, Israel fled before the Philistines, and there has been also a great slaughter among the people, and thy two sons also, Hophni and Phinehas, are dead, and the ark of God was taken. And it came to pass when he made mention of the ark of God, Eli fell from off the seat backward by the side of the gate, and his neck broke, and he died; for he was an old man and heavy. And he had judged Israel forty years. And his daughter-in-law, Phinehas's wife, was with child, near to be delivered, and when she heard the tidings that the ark of God was taken and that her father-in-law and her husband were dead, she bowed herself and travailed, for her pains had come upon her.read more.
And about the time of her death the women that stood by her said unto her, Fear not, for thou hast given birth to a son. But she did not answer, neither did she regard it. And she named the child Ichabod, saying, The glory is departed from Israel! (Because the ark of God was taken and because of her father-in-law and her husband.)
And when they came to Nachon's threshingfloor, Uzzah put forth his hand to the ark of God and took hold of it, for the oxen shook it. And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzzah, and God smote him there for his effrontery, and there he died by the ark of God. And David was grieved because the LORD had made a breach upon Uzzah, and he called the name of the place Perezuzzah to this day.
And when they came unto the threshingfloor of Chidon, Uzza put forth his hand to hold the ark, for the oxen stumbled. And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzza, and he smote him because he had put his hand to the ark, and there he died before God. And David was displeased because the LORD had made a breach upon Uzza; therefore, that place is called Perezuzza to this day.
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and injustice of men, who hold back the truth with injustice;
The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him, but God shall grant the desire of the righteous.
And I will visit evil upon the world and iniquity upon the wicked, and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease and will lay low the haughtiness of the strong.
For, behold, the LORD comes out of his place to visit the iniquity of the inhabitant of the earth against himself: the earth also shall disclose her blood and shall no longer cover her slain.
For by fire and by his sword will the LORD judge all flesh; and the slain of the LORD shall be multiplied.
Marvel not at this, for an hour shall come when all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, and those that have done good shall come forth unto the resurrection of life; but those that have done evil, unto the resurrection of judgment.
Let no one deceive you with vain words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.
for which things' sake the wrath of God comes on the sons of disobedience,
For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction shall come upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
For if the word spoken by the ministry of angels was steadfast and every rebellion and disobedience received a just recompense of reward, how shall we escape, if we belittle such great saving health? Which, having begun to be published by the Lord, has been confirmed unto us by those that heard him,
before the LORD; for he has come, for he has come to judge the earth; he shall judge the world with righteousness and the peoples with his truth.
That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked and that the righteous should be treated as the wicked that are far from thee. Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?
Then Pharaoh sent and called for Moses and Aaron and said unto them, I have sinned this time; the LORD is righteous, and I and my people are wicked.
before the LORD; for he has come to judge the earth; with righteousness he shall judge the world and the peoples with equity.
Marvel not at this, for an hour shall come when all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, and those that have done good shall come forth unto the resurrection of life; but those that have done evil, unto the resurrection of judgment. I can of my own self do nothing; as I hear, I judge, and my judgment is just because I seek not my own will, but the will of the Father who has sent me.
And if our iniquity commends the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Shall for this reason God be unjust who sends punishment? (I speak as a man.) No, in no wise: for then how shall God judge the world? For if the truth of God has more abounded through my lie unto his glory, why even so am I also judged as a sinner?read more.
And why not say (as we are slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say), Let us do evil, that good may come? The condemnation of whom is just.
who, when he was cursed, did not return the curse; when he suffered, he did not threaten, but committed himself to him that judges righteously;
And I heard the angel of the waters say, Thou art righteous, O Lord, who art and wast the Holy one because thou hast judged these things; for they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they deserve it. And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments.
But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, who, after being killed, has power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.
And fear not those who kill the body but are not able to kill the soul, but rather fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
Therefore if thy right eye should bring thee occasion to stumble, pluck it out and cast it from thee; for it is better for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. And if thy right hand should bring thee occasion to stumble, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is better for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
but I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother out of control shall be in danger of the judgment, and whosoever shall insult his brother shall be in danger of the council, but whosoever shall say, Thou art impious, shall be in danger of hell.
The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness has surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? Who among us shall dwell with eternal flames?
For, behold, the LORD will come with fire and with his chariots like a whirlwind to render his anger with fury and his rebuke with flames of fire.
Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him.
For, behold, the day comes that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, and all that do wickedly shall be stubble; and the day that comes shall burn them up, said the LORD of the hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.
As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so shall it be in the end of this age. The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend and those who do iniquity and shall cast them into the furnace of fire; there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.read more.
Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear.
And if thy hand causes thee to fall, cut it off; it is better for thee to enter into life maimed than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that can never be quenched,
And it came to pass that the beggar died and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom; the rich man also died and was buried; and in Hades he lifted up his eyes, being in torments, and saw Abraham afar off and Lazarus in his bosom. And Hades and death were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
And then I will profess unto them, I never knew you; depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Then the king said to the slaves, Bind him hand and foot and take him away and cast him into the darkness outside; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Then he shall also say unto those who shall be on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into eternal fire, prepared for the devil and his angels;
Strive to enter in at the narrow gate; for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in and shall not be able. When once the husband of the house is risen up and shall have shut the door, and ye begin to stand without and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not from where ye are, then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets.read more.
But he shall say unto you, I know you not from where ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity. In that place shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth when ye shall see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out.
And there shall in no wise enter into it anything unclean or that works abomination or makes a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb's book of life.
with flaming fire, to take vengeance on those that do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, who shall be punished with eternal destruction by the presence of the Lord and by the glory of his power,
And many of those that sleep in the dust of the earth shall be awakened, some for eternal life, and some for shame and everlasting confusion.
And they shall go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.
and the smoke of their torment ascends up for ever and ever; and those that worship the beast and its image and whosoever receives the mark of its name, have no rest day or night.
He that has an ear let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the congregations ; He that overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death.
Blessed and holy is he that has part in the first resurrection; on such the second death has no authority, but they shall be priests of God and of the Christ and shall reign with him a thousand years.
But the fearful and unbelieving and the abominable and murderers and fornicators and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.
which devour widows' houses and for a pretence make long prayers: these shall receive greater judgment.

But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment than for you.
And that slave who knew his lord's will and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. But he that knew not and did commit things worthy of stripes shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall much be required; and to whom much was committed, more will be asked of him.
And he laid hold on the dragon, the serpent of old, which is the Devil and Satan and bound him a thousand years
How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How art thou cut down to the ground, who didst claim the Gentiles as an inheritance! Thou who said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven; upon high next to the stars of God I will exalt my throne: and I will sit upon the mount of the testimony and in the sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.read more.
Yet thou shalt be cast down to Sheol, to the sides of the pit.
not a novice, lest being puffed up, he fall into judgment of the devil.
Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same, that through death he might destroy him that had the empire of death, that is, the devil,
And the great dragon was cast out, the serpent of old, who is called Devil and the Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and they shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
