And it greatly distressed David, for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, each one for his sons and for his daughters. But David encouraged himself in Jehovah his God.
And Asa cried to Jehovah his God and said, Jehovah, it is nothing with You to help, whether with many or with him who has no power. Help us, O Jehovah our God, for we rest on You, and in Your name we go against this multitude. O Jehovah, You are our God. Do not let man prevail against You. And Jehovah struck the Cushites before Asa and before Judah. And the Cushites fled.
And at that time Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah and said to him, Because you have relied on the king of Syria, and have not relied on Jehovah your God, therefore the army of the king of Syria has escaped out of your hand.
My voice You shall hear in the morning, O Jehovah; in the morning I will direct my prayer to You, and I will look up.
Jehovah is my strength, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my rock; I will trust in Him; He is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower.
I would have fainted unless I had believed to see the goodness of Jehovah in the land of the living. Hope in Jehovah; be of good courage, and He shall make your heart strong; yea, hope in Jehovah.
Roll your way on Jehovah; trust also in Him, and He will work.
But the salvation of the righteous is from Jehovah; He is their strength in the time of trouble. And Jehovah shall help them, and deliver them; He shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in Him.
Cast your burden on Jehovah, and He will keep you; He will never allow the righteous to waver.
When I am afraid I will trust in You. In God I will praise His Word; in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do to me.
Hear me, O Jehovah, for Your loving-kindness is good; turn to me according to the multitude of Your tender mercies.
But I am always with You; You have held me by my right hand. You shall lead me with Your counsel, and afterward receive me to glory. Whom have I in Heaven? And besides You I desire none on earth.
But Jehovah is my defense; and my God is the rock of my refuge.
My soul waits for Jehovah more than morning-watchers who are watching for the morning.
Trust in Jehovah forever; for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength.
For I, Jehovah your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, Do not fear; I will help you.
And He said to His disciples, Therefore I say to you, Be not anxious as to your life, what you shall eat; nor for the body, what you shall put on. Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing. Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap, having neither storehouse nor barn, and God feeds them. And which of you by being anxious can add one cubit to his stature? If then you are not able to do even the least, why are you anxious about the rest? Consider the lilies, how they grow; they do not toil, they do not spin. And yet I say to you that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. If then God so clothes the grass (which today is in the field, and tomorrow is cast into the oven) how much more will He clothe you, O little-faiths?
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.
Let your way of life be without the love of money, and be content with such things as you have, for He has said, "Not at all will I leave you, not at all will I forsake you, never!" so that we may boldly say, "The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do to me."
Therefore be humbled under the mighty hand of God, so that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your anxiety onto Him, for He cares for you.
